And I agree with Thierry - these renditions were maybe better than others on the tour, but still mediocre at best. I personally don't get why people desperately try to depict every performance in order to find that one halfway bearable rendition in there. Especially since, in this case, it's always about Bed of Roses / These Days / Always / Saturday Night (with a long analysis of each detail). We have 20 years of beautiful, breathtaking renditions of these, why should one waste his breath on rewatching the current ones, knowing that it won't be the same again anyway.

I know you came late to the party and basically really became a fan when even their Indian summer had ended and desperately want to live some of this as well, but Jon's days of a good live singer have gone. You can still hope on something interesting in the studio though.
I actually became a fan in 2003 and saw them live in 2008 and 2011, so I don't think I necessarily "came late to the party". That said, I've always tried to be an optimist and look for the good even when it's largely outweighed by the bad, as is the case here, but I can easily understand why many of you disagree with me.

Maybe I've just been holding out too much hope for too long and it's really not worth it keeping the faith anymore, I don't know... I'm not expecting anything out of this world to become of the new album, either, considering how much more I used to enjoy the band's live performances over their post-HAND studio output anyway until mid-BWC tour.

I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
