That solo actually is one of my favourite Richie solos of the last 20 years. There's something about it that just strikes me. I agree that the production is very much over the top on this one, more than on many other tracks on WAN. That's why I'm happy we have two SBD versions of them doing it and I'd rather stick to them

Jon's always been the best when he wrote about things personally affecting him. To me, he's quite good at that but fails in the role of an "observing songwriter". Though that "Guten Abend" pronounciation is horrendous in the song, but it just raises the trash factor which was the sole purpose of the track anyway
