I can't blame the fans for BB going nowhere. From what I saw it was pretty well received in fan circles, got zero promotion and just came and went for the reasons stated.

I don't think it's Jon's fault and I don't think it's the fans fault I think it falls somewhere in the middle. I've always thought Jon felt slighted when These Days and Destination Anywhere, two of the more "personal writing" style records tanked in America. Next thing you know they're doing a comeback album, the return of the talk box, the return of Bruce Fairbairn, severely dumbed down lyrics. I think that spooked him into releasing what he wants.

I think he's putting out what he thinks (and is probably right) the casual fan wants. For as much as we knock the current sound it sometimes does sound like a modified version of the 80's with the stacks of harmonies and echo-y drums, it's just severely lacking the guitar parts.
