Ok, my excitement has increased a little for the album. I don't think it's going to be a great album, but there will be some good tracks, which is what I was hoping for.

The reason why (I believe) everyone is liking Blood on the Water is because of the production. It is completely different to modern-Jovi. It's clear. It's clean. It doesn't sound like Shanks production.

To me, the album sounds like Burning Bridges Part 2 (not just the sound but its very hit and miss).

Beautiful Drug: Sounds good. Nothing ground breaking. Solo sounds promising. Not a fan of the distorted vocals. Sounds like something off Bounce.

Story of Love: I'll pass. Sounds nice, but boring, ala Scars on This Guitar.

Let It Rain: I like this one. Like Beautiful Drug, it's not ground breaking, but I'm enjoying it. I hear elements from songs like I'm Your Man, and New Year's Day, but better.

Lower the Flag: Can't see myself getting into this one. I really haven't enjoyed modern-day Jovi acoustic songs. The humming bit with the distant bangs of drums sounds nice. I hope the full song makes it better.

Blood in the Water: Immediately, the production hits me. It's not a wall of noise that we've come to expect. The melody does sound like a lesser version of Dry County, but its good to hear passion in a Jovi song again. Sounds like classic Jovi.

Brothers In Arms: Funky. Sounds enjoyable. Can see it get getting old quick though. Sounds like something off Burning Bridges. Solid bass line.

Much more promising than first expected, but I'm still not thrilled. But happy enough I guess. The production mostly sounds messy, and Im not a fan on the effects on Jon's voice in a lot of the songs. I think that's why Blood in the Water stands out so much.

Keen for Oct 2.
