As someone not familiar with their business practices, I think since they promoted it on Spotify, that will be the priority platform with a limited or unlimited release, with their website as the only selling site for a physical copy.

As a young adult I for sure know that the physical market is pretty much non existent, especially in my age group. Record stores are nowhere to be found here, with the last well known closing a couple years ago. I donít know where they would sell it in physical stores (toy stores?, in the grocery store where they sell magazines?, the electronics shop?), so for me, their website makes the most sense.

Important to note this won't be aimed at the young folks. Their bread and butter feels like is 40-50+ women. I don't even know if it would be an in-stores thing. I figured it would be an "order from our website" thing.

I also don't think it will be a Spotify exclusive unless they're paid big to do so.

The die hards who care about unreleased shit are not women 50+ from the US. That's not to say this won't be exactly who they're shooting for - it just pisses me off how much the band became exactly what critics always said they were.
Europe got them a new lease on life in the 90s, but it's blatantly become "watch jon shake his ass for money lol" lately. I think ignoring anything but the studio output would do my appreciation for the band a favor at this point

It's interesting that you say that because from what I've been seeing across social media over the past few years physical media (vinyl specifically) has actually been becoming a lot more popular with teens and young adults again. Pop stars with big, mainly younger fanbases like Taylor Swift or Harry Styles always put their albums out on vinyl (often in multiple different editions with different colors and stuff) and they seem to sell out very quickly. It might just be where I live, but in my experience record stores are also still around and big electronics stores still offer sizable selections of physical media as well.

That being said, of course young people aren't gonna be the target audience for this and they'll probably put their focus on the US market as they have been doing for a while, even though they'd probably be doing significantly better in Europe than in the US with the right promotion/marketing. As others have said I also think they'll likely do a limited physical release and other than that make it available for streaming and digital purchase.

This. This this this. Of course Monopoly will outsell anything music-related the band does. Holiday gifts outsell unreleased music. They've dug themselves into a hole by not actually capitalizing on their legacy. Ironically they spent too much time on the road and not enough time digging into the past.

The fact they mentioned it on Spotify is irrelevant, of course it would be on Spotify and other streaming platforms regardless. I've loads of artists' Spotify messages being used to promote their activities for next year - regardless of if it's Spotify related or not.

As the others have said, Young Adults are not Bon Jovi's primary audience, and the age of their primary audience (45+) have a good percentage of people that buy physical media. There are still stores that carry it, but the majority of Physical media is now sold through Amazon or bands official websites.

If it's Universal it will be in stores one way or another, at least this side of the Ocean.

I disagree on this. The only person buying a Bon Jovi Monopoly game is a fan, or for a fan. All the clichť housewives will also buy the box because they will buy anything Bon Jovi rated. There are some fans - such as me - who will not touch the Monopoly but will buy the music.

If a box is released by a major label, it is getting some sort of physical release.

I completely agree with this.
