I'm sorry Jackie for touching the wound here but is it really a lament (as you put it) over somebody who lost it altogether? Now that his fate will be tragic in the end, whatever he's doing he's doomed?

I'm not really convinced about this one. Seems too far fetched, too pessimistic... but the perspective is his. Mine may differ
