Living With the Ghost just has to be about Richie. Although I can't remember if Jon actually said that or not?

And I agree the song to me doesn't seem to be about SK, but I know for sure that is what Jon said it was about in those listening shows where the whole album was played. I guess I should go back and find out what he said about Living With the Ghost.

I'm sure by what Jon has said about the songs they were written before Prince's death. Remember the first release date given for the album was in March of this year. And Prince didn't die until April of this year.

Default It is about SK

I have not seen were he says this song is about Soul Kitchen, but I can definitely see how it is. I'm sure over the years they have heard many stories at SK and their other philanthropic work of people who were once at the top of whatever game they were playing, and how fragile the reign at the top can be. (When it all comes crashing down, all you have left is your soul, so hopefully you haven't sold it. ) I'm sure parts of many of those stories are written into the lyrics.

I don't know a lot about poetry, but if the writer says it was inspired from Soul Kitchen, I will believe him.

Not everything is about Richie.

That's true. But this particular writer also said years ago that he wrote songs for movies and there was no personal stories there, then admitted years after the fact, on the box set DVD, that they were his stories and he was hiding behind the characters.

So ya just never know, do ya?

please dig into Living with the Ghost, its pretty pretty obvious what he's trying to say but I really liked the way you dismembered All Hail the King to explain your thoughts on the song

I'm sorry Jackie for touching the wound here but is it really a lament (as you put it) over somebody who lost it altogether? Now that his fate will be tragic in the end, whatever he's doing he's doomed?

I'm not really convinced about this one. Seems too far fetched, too pessimistic... but the perspective is his. Mine may differ
