Announcement tomorrow?

People keep taking about a 40th "celebration" but theres been zero from the band around the 40th anniversary around the time they formed.

No tweets from Dave, Jon or even Richie.

Anyone else find that odd??

Perhaps, but not neccesarily. It is possible they are basing any 40th anniversay off a physical release (the first album) which would have more signifigance for a general audience. But honestly, with the state of Bon Jovi at the moment I have no idea.

We are constantly dissapointed, but you'd think that by following this band for so long we would know better by now and expect nothing!

Well, this is more of a wish. Then reality hits and crushes you.

It’s a shame we haven’t heard anything as many of you have said, the state of Bon Jovi these days isn’t surprising.

I’m assuming we’ll get the boxset/documentary towards the end of the year, with maybe a few shows celebrating the 40th anniversary/boxset then a new album next year, to coincide with their anniversary of their first album.

A new box set at the end of the year and a new album in March? I don't think it's so soon. If we finally get a new album in 2024, at the earliest it would be released in May-June. Although releasing the new single from that album in March might be feasible.

I didn’t mean a new album in March, I just meant sometime next year as Jon doesn’t like to be a “nostalgia act”, but yeah a new single in March then album sometime later in 2024

I agree with the notion that the 40th celebration will stem from the first album release date. Tony K brought up a very good point on Twitter about not knowing where the date came from originally. I wonder if the even the band camp doesn't deem it real. At least the album release date is a definitive date everyone knows.

I thought it was the date Jon signed the record contract?

Actually that's a possibility, considering the mess Jovi camp is...

Also I remember during one of those Q&A, Jon said they would release this BoxSet directly in the Experience (at least this was one way of understanding what he said back then, but correct me if I'm wrong!). That said, they could be planning that, but wouldn't be a smart move IMO.
