Default Are Bon Jovi recording right now?

I'm seeing a lot of Instagram posts from Shanks moving gear and tagging the band. He just uploaded a photo of Phil and the walls look a lot like Sanctuary II. Assuming Jon still has the house/studio I wonder what's going on.

I hope not. Thats a sure way to return to stale songwriting.

Or they may be riding their/Jon's newfound enthusiasm for their work. He appeared to be extremely proud of THINFS. How many years do they have left? They may as well give it a go and release the next album as soon as possible. There was a 4 year gap between the release of TC and release of WAN, and yet only about 17 months between 7800 and SWW.

I actually hope Captain_jovi's speculation turns out to be true.

I'd probably wager that they're just rehearsing for future legs of the tour - perhaps then we'll get some set variation!
But that's just me trying not to get my hopes up.

I think that's likely.

In this photo, there's a setlist on the floor, but unless someone has a magic pair of eyes it's impossible to read.

EDIT: More evidence to suggest the band is rehearsing rather than recording.

It seems a little early for rehearsals if it's for this next leg... On the reverse side, I don't think Jon wants to use Phil in the studio...

New music would be cool... at this stage in the game 'more time off doesn't equal better quality of Music'

Imo Burning Bridges has some of the best music from the past 10 years and that was a throw away album...

Maybe they are doing something to release to the fans but maybe not a new studio album?????

I think you guys are right, I think it's just tour rehearsals. I doubt it's pre-production for anything new.

Jon did sign a new deal so I'm sure that includes mandatory releases within a certain timeline... Jon also sees himself as a corporation so him releasing new music and touring keeps people working which is important to him...

Although I anticipate some new releases sooner rather than later, I would think something else inbetween first... I also wonder if these live SBD shows are fulfilling that requirement...

To play devil's advocate, them going over new material doesnt mean a new album any time soon. Could be the first step in a long long long process but the fact that Phil is there tells me otherwise. I don't believe going back into the studio now means stale songwriting because things will be discarded as they go.

For me it's bullshit when people say it's "too early to write new material." You write when you're inspired and feel in the right mood, there is no rule that the longer you wait the better the songs get. Back in the 60s/70s bands released two, or even three studio albums a year and those are among the most timeless albums of all time.
I find it a little sad that most acts see it as standard to wait three years between every release. I envy those of you who got to experience the times when your favorite bands basically threw material at the fans like once every six months.
