Backstage with Bon Jovi (40th Anniversary)

He says in the video backstage that Snake and Bolan used to come to him with songs they'd go over together and tweak lines/lyrics. So I don't really imagine that they necessarily started out as band songs and much more had band influence on them. Hence probably no rough Bon Jovi demos of these.

What we have and haven't talked about blurs togehter so much so I can't tell but look at the board on the back.

1) Did we know that Let's Make It Baby stemmed from KTF and not TD? I feel like we debated that years ago here?
2) If I Was Youjr Mother being listed as If I Was Yo Mamma haha

I'm hoping/thinkin we'll get Skin Deep and Revenge through this.

Yeah - people are overeacting a bit I think. I've no doubt that he had a hand in the helping them with the writing of the song, but it sounds to me like they brought the song in to him and he helped them tweak it. I don't think he wrote it and gave it to them and I doubt very much there are any Bon Jovi demos of Skid Row songs...

I think Let's Make It Baby was just carried along through the phases, as was Diamond Ring.
Revenge was the early version of Keep The Faith, with that I'd also hope for The Right To Walk Away.

The version from the These Days special edition was listed as a New Jersey demo, but I was always suspicious that it was from later. It's not the same as the demo that had been floating around for years from the New Jersey sessions and that eventually ended up on the New Jersey deluxe edition.

I don't recall it ever being mentioned as being demoed for Faith or These Days previously, but I could be wrong. It doesn't sound like a song they would have considered for These Days to me. I'd put money on the These Days SE version being from the KTF sessions...

Yup yup, same. I've been convinced for years that the TD version was redone but I don't know if it was based on theory or fact. Unless they tried to Diamond Ring it and did it for three albums in a row, it makes sense to me it's from KTF sessions.

I honestly don't think I've listened to either version it in the last ten, fifteen years.

Don't forget there was a scrapped album in between called Open All Night (Crossroads took its spot to provide more time and fulfill the record contract).

hopefully there is actually studio footage from the keep the faith sessions, ie jon singing fear, bob giving production notes/talking things out with jon.
