Also, since the book is based on the website that would suggest that the pages are all ready. Unless the book ends with Crossroad, which seems unlikely.

Even with the grand history of crazy Jovi decisions this one looks especially weird.

I imagine the scene about the idea of the book…

Someone of BJ management: “Damn…the website is not going well, what can we do to solve this problem?”

Another one of BJ management: “I have an idea!!! you know out there is full of people that love buy our merch from our store even if half of them probably never even listened to half of our songs that we released in the past, so we could transfer all the photos and news of the backstage with BJ in something like an expensive book!!!”

*After found the solution everyone happily toasts with glasses full of Hampton Water.

Sadly I can quite picture that being true.

Mix of cheapness and laziness I feel. With that many demos it still takes someone/third party company to actually do it correctly. I'd love to know how big the organization is or what tasks get hired out. But it's still something that will take time and money to do, right?

But why come this far just to abandon it entirely? For a while it felt like it was just paused while the Forever stuff happened and then for the book. I really don't get it.

Well, at least the time shouldn't be a topic since the 40 year anniversary wasn't too much of a surprise-happening.

They have all the time in the world to do it, my point was the amount of time it would take to do all that = amount of hours paying someone to do it. They always half ass this stuff to save a dollar.

Whats causing this? Is it their management or is it Jons attitude?

*Shrugs* I don't think they have full label support like they used to. Gone are the days of having media coverage at their fingertips and an audience that will slurp up whatever they put out. Anything that didn't sell so hot at least promoted the tours but without those they need a top-to-bottom restructuring.

I don't think Jon cares much either way but it's also not on him to care, it falls under his teams marketing decisions. It's completely shifted to cheap knock offs and easy to pump out merch items sold at high costs. That's the audience they've cultivated.

I can only speak for a numer of videos on that website, they were digitized over a decade ago by a company and as soon as the team would've headed into really going into remastering processes, it got too expensive for some. At least that's what I heard and it would fit the narrative. That project was shelfed back then and I have the feeling the uploads are what had already been done, hence also the wide differences in quality and some stuff that is around in better quality amongst fans.
No idea how the process with the audio tapes was though and if they've (partly) been a part of that project back then.
