What current hits do you speak of? The last hit I remember Springsteen having was The Rising, and that's now 10 years old.

I can't remember which Bon Jovi employee on Twitter tweeted about it but I think they shot the video some time when the band reunited in New York for the Sandy Benefit concert.

New message Twitter, Matt Bongiovi say:

Matt: read the comments. I think you all should back off @johnshanks1. He fine tunes what the artist wants. I Agree BWC is a hit

Fan: BJ wants to do BWC? Perhaps it’s a hit or not. But don’t sound like a Rock and roll single.. That’s what the fans want!

Matt: true sounds more like a sold out stadium anthem

Jesus, if he's implying the song has anything to do with a sold out tour he's delirious.

Well, I'm sure Jon doesn't read fan message boards on the internet. But I would think somehow he would get word of the decidedly mixed reaction from his fan base (if not someone like Matt passing along comments from Backstage, then via Twitter feedback to Shanks or Richie). For a guy that hates to have even one "lull" moment in his concert performances, I'd love to know what he thinks of this. Or maybe he couldn't care less.

P.S. And I have to believe Matt is right about one thing: Shanks is doing exactly what Jon wants on the record. If it's any consolation, I think both Jon and Richie have said that some of the songs have tons of production, and some hardly any (e.g. maybe The Fighter).

This is why you all need to back off and stop acting like immature brats - nice way of putting it.

Let the song do what's it's intended to do.

I doubt it. As defensive and off-putting as his tweets are, I think he's simply making the point that whether or not you like the song, the band are still selling out stadiums so go **** yourself.

It's a completely nonsensical argument but I think that's what he was getting at rather than suggesting that the song has shifted all the concert tickets.

Yea that makes way more sense than what I was thinking. Matt might as well have said "go after your precious idol if you're going to take shots, Shanks did what he was paid to do" which is absolutely right.

Sound like Sold Out Stadium?

This song is another break to have a beer or take a piss, my God, I hope not extended to 8 minutes how "who says".

Radio Nowhere was a hit and new tracks are still getting lots of airplay. Plus his latest album is getting accolades thrown at it from respected outlets. Remaining at the forefront of music is one thing but doing it while maintaining your dignity is another. Bon Jovi can't buy a hit and they're out there making pop songs.
