I honestly think that, in terms of melody, BITW is better than DC.
Not the song, just the overall melody. Dry County is much more epic, but without the breathtaking intstrumenation, the core of the song, especially its chorus, is rather standard.
Oh Blood has more emotion than Dry County.

Change my mind.

Love's The Only Rule, The Distance, Any Other Day and Living With The Ghost are all better for me. Oh, and Luv Can of course.

If BITW had another solo at the end, it would be the best one for sure...
What drugs are you guys on? Same ones as Jon and John?😹😹

Even if BITW was a better song, it wouldn’t even exist without DC, it’s just a nice cheap copy (but still possibly the best Jovi song since TD).

But honestly, listen to Dry County sober, drunk, on drugs, tired,... it’s far superior to BITW and anything else Jon and Richie have written (leaving Richie without writing credits must have been a ‘I’ll show him who’s boss’ moment).

I think it's a great shout. I love a lot of post 2000 songs but Blood In The Water is the closest we've got to anything being put on albums in the 90s and fitting in, in my opinion.

The intro, Jon's vocals, the melody, drums and lyrics are all superb. Of course, a guitar outro would have been nice but take the song for what it is, it's great.

It's already on my Spotify top 5 most played songs this year and I listen to Spotify everyday!

"Who Would You Die For?" is my favourite post-TD era song, I'd rate "Blood in the Water" as my 2nd favourite.

Best post-TD songs...

It's My Life
Thank You for Loving Me
Stay
Undivided
Have a Nice Day
I Want to Be Loved
Dirty Little Secret
Whole lot of Leaving
Make a Memory
Any Other Day
Superman Tonight
Love's the Only Rule
That's What the Water Made Me
Into the Echo
We Don't Run
Rollercoaster
Born Again Tomorrow
Living with a Ghost
Walls
Let It Rain
Blood in the Water
Shine
Luv Can

Stay is the one song above any other that should've been a single, let alone on the actual album. It's so dam powerful and emotive.
