they are too ****ing tired man, they dont need to and did it for twenty years. they are celebrating their unity together and enjoying it now.

they are together what more do you want.

jon is a business man now and so what, he is helping people and charities and making music to keep us happy.

if you aint happy you aint a fan.

they love the fans they just dont show it the way you want them to.

interpersonal relationships with the people who buy the music is not the most important part of the situation, its the enjoyment of the music they produce and going to see them live. i mean i agree it would be great if they gave more feedback to fans but to be honest if i was jon i would say after 25 years and from there on i would bother less and less

jon and richie do constantly show appreciation though in a certain way

He stands a good chance.

Of all the artists that have emerged in this decade, i seriously see John Mayer still recieving fan AND critical acclaim in 20 years time.

Make some distinctions, people. Yes, the article is obviously pro-Mayer; it was perfectly fine up until the author decided to ejaculate to those (bad) lyrics for Mayer's (bad) album. There is no doubt that Mayer is an incredibly overrated artist; he steals old blues licks and writes soft, safe, shit music (yes, far whiter and safer than some of the dubious tunes Jovi has put out the past ten years). Listening to John Mayer makes me consider the elevator industry.

That said, he clearly is far more shrewd of a businessman than so-called 'CEO' JBJ is. Everyone who has been saying Bon Jovi dug themselves a grave with their awful marketing decisions have been absolutely correct. Being on Oprah and the Today Show is embarrassing. A pompous documentary that says little about the music but is there to pump up Jon is embarrassing and useless. Although the interviews with Conan and Lipton were good, they indeed do little to motivate interest, and the actual performances on TV have been a disaster. Remember when they played Hey God on MTV back in the day? Why not crank out Bullet on the Tonight Show instead of your failed lead single? Why not use youtube and twitter to promote interest? As others have said, Jonny boy decided that if it doesn't immediately make money, it can't be worth it. And now they're paying dearly for it.

You know what Bon Jovi's genius idea was? The Bon Jovi Street Team. Cause, you know, a bunch of housewives running around the streets of Philadelphia are going to get the average 20-year old interested in Bon Jovi. Give me a break.

The Circle really could have been an opportunity to change Jovi's increasingly ugly image, had the marketing been smarter. A shame.

I don't know wy people are arguing against it, yes the pro-mayer comments tend to get annoying but, a lot of it is right on the money. It's can almost be regarded as fact that ost bands that have been around and been as succesfull as Bon Jovi have been tend to loose a bit of touch with their fan base. Out of all of them Tico is the only one that seems well rounded, but he really isn't making any decisions now is he??

The marketing industry is changing, they should be innovating and not following or keeping content on that if it ain't broke don't fix it mantra they tend to follow a lot. Meh what do I know.....

Both albums are awesome. #'s 2 and 3 on the year for me at this point. Quite frankly, that's all I really care about.

its amazing that bon jovi are still going never mind the fact that they can get a number one record.

they are superior and legendary status.

most importantly they certainly do now when it comes to making money and selling out stadiums and being loved by millions, but in the 80's and 90's they would have pissed and shat all over john mayer because they were ridiculously exciting etc etc etc etc etc etc

and by the way will jon mayer have a number 1 in 2023, considering that would be his 25th year. somehow i seriously doubt it.

bon jovi are a different generation and jon does it the way he wants to and he has enormous success, so i respect him for that and so on.

need me to remind you of something?

Thank you for the link. It reminded me how great Bon Jovi were and how bad they are now.
