This is pretty cool, even if the new stuff is essentially Runaway demos, plus Come Back I guess. So not exactly a must buy for me (is there gonna be a regular CD release?), but the definitive version of the debut

Anybody with better speakers / super familiar with the original able to comment if the mix is any different for the regular album tracks?

Also, even 40 years back, JBJ sounded a lot more comfortable in lower registers. He sure improved a lot until the 90s, but that seems to imply that even in the 80s, the high pitched stuff was not his natural range.

the e-mail says:

Celebrate 40 years of Bon Jovi

2024 is the year of #BonJovi40! Kick things off with the Bon Jovi: Deluxe Edition...

And if they care to do a special edition with the debut we will 100% see new editions of the blockbuster Slippery When Wet and follow up New Jersey spanning five TOP10 US singles.

There are tons of material from the golden era of 1986-1990 that could be included:

-uncut / director's cut of Access All Areas
-new multichannel mix of New Jersey (SWW 5.1 is already out there)
-Slippery "writing process" with demos from various stages: Sambora + Bongiovi acoustic + band rehearsal demos etc.
-Slippery pro-shot concert (from roadie tapes that got leaked or from vault)
-legendary Hammersmith 1990 charity show which was professionally shot
-Cincinnati 1987 complete soundboard
-Milton Keynes 1989 proshot
-"first five live" live album from New Jersey tour that got canned in 1990

I agree. This is a nice little addition to the collection but it's just 1% of what I'm hoping for.

By recycling those Tokyo tracks again just shows that they don't want to spend money on additional licensing, etc. I'm sure they have a ton of unreleased songs from that period that they could have thrown on there. Even adding 3 extra tracks could have turned this from "cool" to "awesome". I don't know if his cousin Tony owns the rights so who knows?

They could have been sitting on this since 2014 after they said more albums were coming after the New Jersey deluxe edition.

The one big positive is... It's great to see how well they could get the Preproduction and Home Recordings sounding... I'd love to get those Slippery songs "The Promise" "Walk Don't Run" Take Me Home" "Stand Up" "There Is No Answer" Etc. in this type of quality.

The tone around here is as typical for this forum as ever
Folks, we got 5 unreleased demos for free. When in Bon Jovi history did we ever get something out of the archives, in this quality and unconditionally FOR FREE?

Yeah, it's 4 demos of the same song. But how cool is that to see the development of a song during the production process? To me it's a great free of cost release and really something that makes me looking forward what the year will bring.

Loving this...the pre-production studio demo sounds really edgy and so different from anything else out at that time, makes you wonder. Well done to them for putting this out.

And some of the merch is really cool too - for once. There was badass t-shirt back in the day, wish they had reissued that one...

Yup. It's tough to admit when they're on the right track but some people got the pitchforks out way too early on this one. They are putting out music either we haven't heard before or something that one in every ten fans heard in 2010. There is no need for griping this early in.

I use Spotify on a daily basis anyway, so it's a nice addition to listen to on my way to work. Really think this is a nice way. And, to be honest, I hope they'll do something similar with all albums throughout the year. Wouldn't really need it for SWW and NJ though. These have been milked to death. Don't get me wrong, I love the albums a lot, but we've had remixed, extended editions and all of that of those. Rather give me something from other albums we didn't have in the past. Hell, give me the demos and alternate versions of Blaze Of Glory and Stranger In This Town!

Yeah, this is a good release there is nothing to complain about here. This one is for the fans too because Bon Jovi is not a classic album that casuals are going to be very interested in.
