I guess I made the assumption that the old stuff would come from the BJ vaults; but there's really no reason why he couldn't pull some of his solo outtakes as well. Makes sense.

The first thing I thought of when I saw the title was the line from TWTWMM "Love is like fingerprints, it won't wash away I left mine all over you, I'll take the blame... " I wonder if there's a connection.

Maybe I just have no taste or I'm way too easy, but I like both of these, especially Blind Love!

Thanks for the lyrics, Anthony. I heard a few things differently, but not much. And thankfully, there doesn't seem to be a "Guess the lyric" line in either one!

Teardrop to the Sea
So this is it.
Here it is.
My pot of a gold,
A Judas kiss.

I got what I wanted.
I paid every cost.
I'd give it all back
To get back what I've lost.
Like a wave on the beach,
Last leaf on the tree,
It's all just a memory.

Chorus
Love pick me up.
I'm down on my knees.
My treasure just rags
Wings that don't fly,
I ain't praying, I'm choking.
I'll fix what's been broken.
Got nothing to hide.
No time for goodbye.
Nobody grieves
A teardrop to the sea.

They shake my hand,
Pat my back.
They know my drink.
Welcome back.
The life of the party.
Tears of a clown.
Can't hear a heartbreak,
The music's too loud.

Chorus
Love pick me up.
I'm down on my knees,
My treasure just rags
Wings that don't fly.
I ain't praying, I'm choking,
I'll fix what's been broken.
Got nothing to hide.
No time for goodbye.
Nobody grieves
A teardrop to the sea.

Guitar Solo

It's just broken glass,
Chalk lines on the scene.
Move along, move along, ain't nothing here to see.

Chorus
Love pick me up.
I'm down on my knees.
My riches just rags,
And wings that don't fly.
I ain't praying, I'm choking.
I'll fix what's been broken.
Got nothing to hide.
No bitter goodbyes.
Ah love pick me up.
Ah love pick me up.
Nobody grieves
A teardrop to the sea,
A teardrop to the sea,

A teardrop to the sea

Blind Love
Welcome to another hard night.
You made it through another day.
Sit at the counter counting chips,
Can count on nothing else these days,

Don't wanna go home to the TV,
Don't wanna go down to some bar.
You grab a blanket, put the top down,
And go driving in your car,

Though your bed's as warm as January,
On this cold December's night.

Chorus
Close your eyes love,
Sleep safe and sound tonight Cos blind love
Is guiding every step I take.
It's one less I've gotta make.
Til I find my way home,
Try love.

Welcome to another morning,
The sun's still shining, but it's grey.
"Get out of bed now, sleepy head!"
You'd give it all to hear him say.

Oh, no one said it'd be easy,
But no one said it'd be this hard,

Chorus
To close your eyes love.
Sleep safe and sound tonight Cos blind love
Is guiding every step I take.
It's one less I've gotta make.
'Til I find my way home,
Try love.

If there's a patron saint of blind love
I hope he keeps me on your mind love.
With every moment I'm away
We're getting close to the day,
We'll never have to say goodbye love.

These days it's hard for me to feel the sand beneath my feet,
With this gunnysack and boots on, awww...
But no one said this would be easy,
And no one said it'd be this hard.

Chorus
Close your eyes love.
Sleep safe and sound tonight Cos blind love
Is guiding every step I take.
It's one less I've gotta make.
'Til I find my way home,
Try love.

If there's a patron saint of blind love,
I pray he keeps me on your mind love.
With every moment I'm away,
We're getting close to the day,
We'll never have to say goodbye love,
With our blind love,
blind love,

Welcome to another hard night,
You've made it through another day.

I'm shocked that more people aren't feeling Teardrop. I think it's such a deep tune. It's actually starting to creep up to 'We Don't Run' for the best song on Burning Bridges.

I like Jon's more natural vocal and the production works with this one. I love the twists and turns within the chorus.

Make sure you listen to these songs through headphones or a stereo instead of your internal PC or phone speaker.

My order so far...

1. We Don't Run - 10
2. A Teardrop To The Sea - 9.9
3. Sat Night - 9
4. Blind Love - 6

I really want to listen to them, especially since people are throwing out Destination Anywhere comparisons, but I have a headache and I won't let myself listen because I'm afraid it will taint my opinion. Everything is just "noise" right now.

You have a much better ear than I do! Well done!

I'm actually enjoying Blind Love. It's much better than other soft ballads (i.e. The Fighter). Maybe it's because of my interpretation of the lyrics. To me it's about someone who is trying to push pass the pain of losing someone (I recently lost my grand mother to cancer, just two months ago).

Makes me a little teary, in fact. Kinda like the video clip of Make a Memory. It makes me miss my Nonna even more, but in a nice way.

Love We Don't Run, but Teardrop is a close 2nd. I actually like Blind Love too. Although, I've only heard each once. Love the tempo change in Teardrop. Love the guitar in it too.

Is it me, or is Blind Love about a soldier off to war?

I like your interpretation of Blind Love more than my soldier off to war. The we're close to the day, we'll never have to say goodbye love. Sounds like closer to the day where they meet in the afterlife or something

Yeah that's how I interpret it. Though the solider-off-to-war makes a lot of sense, and I'd bet that's how it was intended.
