He clearly has a commitment to put out a record this year on his record contract - personally I'm glad he found something else to put out rather than rush the new, new album rather than the new fan album.

It's like the last greatest hits record - he didn't really want to do another of those either but it was a record contract commitment.

IMO, Jon's explanation was as clear as day.

Every real fan knows how Jon feels about compilation releases and more so GH albums in general. He f-en hates them and does workarounds instead. Even if they suck like TLFR, he at least makes an effort to try for something different. That's more or less of what's going on.

The record company wanted something so he put together a different type of release. This isn't the main album and doesn't want people to be confused. He said We Don't Run is new and the other song is 8 years old. Simple!!!

It's very common for songwriters or any artist to be biased towards their latest work. He doesn't hate Burning Bridges, he's just not excited by it because it doesn't represent who he is right now. The majority of those songs didn't make earlier records and they were "renewed" to work for this release and fulfill the commitment to the record company. We Don't Run wasn't gonna make the next album and Saturday Night gave me Sunday morning didn't make The Circle. Simple as that, why people are over analyzing this is beyond me....

I don't get how Bon jovi are releasing a commitment album for the label. They've had 4 albums, reissues, NJ deluxe and 1 GH out of the band in last 9 years. That's a lot
