Agreed. I can't stand apathy and there is a ton of it in the US. But, I think he mean't more on the side of "what others think" vs not caring in general.

Because I know for a fact that a very large population of the US is uneducated in a lot more than just sports, entertainment and "a little" politics. I was engaged to an american for two and a half years.

And I've just said ignore my post if I took it out of context from what you meant - don't try and start an argument where there isn't one, dude.

There is a difference of being uneducated and not giving a shit...

I'm referring more about an obsession. Non Americans obsess about Americans however we don't share that same obsession. that is how I should have originally phrase my statement
