A good analogy is to see the Rock Band software as Itunes. In just the last few weeks, we've seen the release of Bob Marley's Legend album, an REM track pack with some fairly deep cuts, and Jimi Hendrix' Are You Experienced album. This is just the warm-up. I'm quite certain we are going to see many more big ones.

It does boil down to why would you want to continue to use Rock Band 2, or 1 for that matter, with the upgrades coming in the new software. Even if you play the six button guitar only.... just the overshell upgrades should be encouraging enough. Whatever, I have my game disc/keyboard bundle reserved already.
