How do you rate Bon Jovi 2020?

Lyrically, I think the new album is the best album since These Days. That said, there was definitely something lacking from this record. Personally, I believe it was the lack of true love songs (I'm not counting Beautiful Drug because that's not a romantic love song) that made this album seem not complete. Maybe Luv Can and Shine will change my opinion on that, I'm not sure. Blood in the Water is practically a carbon copy of Dry County, with a vocal range much more geared toward a 2020 Jon Bon Jovi. I was surprised by the instrumental in the last minute of Story Of Love, very reminiscent of Fingerprints from Burning Bridges. Let It Rain was fantastic, I think that was probably the standout track to me. The "If there's something we can talk about let's talk about it" section from Lower The Flag felt very out of place on first listen. The fact that it was Jon's voice singing that part and talking over himself was strange. There's like, 6 people in the band now, use them for backing vocals, ya know? But the rest of that song was great. Beautiful Drug should have been the single, I still cannot stand the chorus of Limitless. American Reckoning has beautiful lyrics and a very bland chorus as well. Do What You Can is a step forward for the modern Bon Jovi sound and I'm okay with it, especially the version with Jennifer Nettles. Brothers In Arms is fun to listen to, but didn't do much for me. I'd give this album a 7 overall

Jon said that this album will be completely different from what we were used to...

Here we got two faces:
Face 1: Bon Jovi 2010 - 2016: Over compressed, over tunned... as we all know
Face 2: Bon Jovi trying to get back his old style without pretending to sound like 1988... finally Jon has shown that he can sing in a good tune that is not gonna take his guts out.

Sonically 2020 sounds just like THINFS.

I am beyond surprised. I am stunned by how good it is.

Lower the Flag might be the best song Jon has ever written. The way Blood in the Waters follows it is amazing. It genuinely brought a tear to my how beautiful the two tracks fit together.

I had no positive expectations for this album other than to be hugely dissapointed. **** me, Jon still has it.

Voted really bad because I like only two songs out of ten. Lower the Flag and Story of Love. Now, when I compare this album to THINFS, I like the previous album more.
