[QUOTE=Thinny;1291733]But imagine how much better it would be if he had an improved vocal...

Waiting till 2025, wasn't going to change anything, who knows he could perhaps get better, but it's a work in progress....

Not that I'm expecting JBJ to sound like the 80's and 90's. Perhaps a return to 2011ish vocals performance is the best we can hope for....Heck anything better than 2020 vocals, it does seems he's improved on "Forever" whether that's to fans tastes we shall see.

At this stage, I'd be more than happy with 2011 vocals. The improvement on the new album to the last is minimal at best. We saw him struggling during the making of this album in the documentary. I believe that he has already improved since then, at least he seems very positive about a tour next year, so I completely disagree that waiting another year wouldn't make any difference. I'm not saying he'll be back to his 90s standard, but anything better than the last 10 years I would be happy with.

I don't think waiting a year would made a difference to what he would have released, and his vocals are still recovering so I wouldn't expect a great improvement, but judging from the 2 singles released he sounds better than he did on 2020.
I will still check out the album, curious to hear this Walls Of Jericho tune. I'm hoping that box set is still being released at years end.

Another 12 to 18 months in the recovery process would have helped imo. I'm not finding much improvement vocally from 2020 based on what I've heard so far.

Even dudes in the band don't know what's going to happen with Jon's voice.

Could he have waited and hoped it would be better? Sure. But then you lose even more time. between the doc and the album and pushes a possible tour out another year. These aren't young men.

There is zero guarantee if he waited a year to record this album it would have been better. Could have been even worse. Even the guy trying to get back in the band says he shouldn't have done the surgery.

It woudn't have been wasting time though, just switching stuff around. They'd do the stuff they are probably going to do next year now (The box set) and the album next year to go along with the tour. That just makes more sense to me and gives Jon's voice longer to get sorted. But they have their reasons.

Agree....I don't know if JBJ liked Richie saying he wrong to have vocal surgery, but judging from this song at least I'm glad he did ( perhaps their isn't a great improvement)....Whether he can further improve we see....

Not getting younger, happy for Bon Jovi to still make music ( Albums) and release this song, even if they may never tour again......

Which I honestly think are valid reasons. "It's just another year away" is a very reasonable point when you're in you're 20s or 30s. Tico is 70 blah blah blah. It's a gamble to wait a furhter year "in the HOPES" it works.

Just watching the doc shows JBJ in full "If get the surgery and it fails I have nothing left to lose. I can't sing either way if it goes wrong"

I dno, I hear what you're saying but it's a gamble and if his voice gets worse or something happens, then it is wasted time. I think that has to be considered.

So either jon will continue to improve with time or if this is best it's gonna get than Jon shouldn't have lied when he said he would retire if he couldn't sing anymore.

I think JBJ means live retirement, not from still making Album(s)
