Got it! Sorry, I wanted to respond to it, I just wasn't sure which point I was trying to debate haha.

Yeah, agreed, Extreme is a killer band aimed at an entirely different audience. I'd love a world our band had that edge to them again.

This is such a valid point. Personally I think most of the people who will HATE the song are the fans who don't like this version of the band and its sound. For everyone else it will probably just gert ignored.

Of course it is opinion. Let's not get into needing to caveat every post with "in my opinion".

And again, I contest that the song crashes and burns because it is Bon Jovi. It has 1 million views because it is Bon Jovi. Perhaps you are arguing if a major current star released it, the song would be a hit?

I seen some people out of here that think that the last good record is KTF and they don’t like the band after that.

To the other side some people say that TD was the last decent record.

Others say that Bounce or HAND were the lasts..

Others like also the others albums…

Others like everything Jon does…

Everyone has its preferences, we could make a reunion with all the people of the planet that know BJ music and we would have many different opinion.

This is just my point of view…

No you're bang on. We're getting to wild discussions like "I showed it to my friends and they liked it" and "well I showed it to my friends and they hated it".

Meh. If you like the song, awesome. If you hate it, awesome. None of us are right or wrong.

Exactly, if you like “awesome”, if you don’t “awesome”.

This is also my point.

My point is that everyone has its preferences and none of us are right or wrong.

I was talking in general in my last message to what it happens out of here as example that there aren’t people that are right or wrong.

Yes, but also lot of online critique that modern Jovi gets is not only from fans of the band, but from fans of hard & heavy rock (and metal) music in general. They are fast to say that Jovi was somewhat good in 1988 but sold out since then. And it doesn't matter what kind of quality the band produces, as long as it's not a new 1:1 copy of Wild in the Streets or whatever, it's not good. If they didn't know and you make a case that, e.g. These Days is a completely new song, most of them would say booooring, sellout, hasbeen, etc.

And for all the legitimate critiques that Jon and the band got for being middle of the road or too safe, in this case I applaud Jon for never saying f*ck it, let's satisfy this glam hunger with few throwback songs in this vain. That would be insincere and quite frankly, pathetic. And those same from hard&heavy camp that would possibly embrace it, would listen 2 or 3 times and go back to their favourites anyway. Me personally, I would like more of the band in 1995 form, like choosing to do that iconic Hey God appearance on MTV instead of a ballad hit. But probably I'm romanticizing what band was then also

It's harder to play than their biggest hit of the past 25 years (IML), so I wouldn't take that as a quality criteria
