3/10

More mush with stolen parts from other superior songs.

Default Let's rate: Labor Of Love

I'm not sure how I'd rate it due to only hearing a short clip on iTunes but it's (so far) the best song out of the 3 released so far for me. Not amazing by any means. Reminds me very much of Springsteen's "I Wish I Were Blind".

People are also so quick to compare too... The song sounds like this and that and for that reason I love or hate it...

Just listen to the song as the original piece of work that it is and find the parts you like....

A certain artist can make or break a song... The way an artist sings a song can make or break a song (If Bad Name was released in 2016, it would go down as the worst song in history)... The production of a song can make or break a song...

This song has great mood, has passion, it's different, it's catchy, and it's believable just the way Teardrop is... I listened to Knockout maybe 10 times since its release.. I've been listening to this song nonstop since last night and it just keeps going...
The fact that you rated this song and the masterpiece otherwise known as Dry County equally is unbelievable to me.

I haven't decided what to rate Labor of Love yet, but it for shit sure is nowhere near the epic level of DC.

I don't live in the past and am smart enough to understand Jon's capabilities... I don't live in that fantasy world thinking Jon could ever put out a These Days part 2 like some of you are expecting... Dry County was released almost 25 years ago... I happen to live in the now and think this song along with Teardrop are the perfect fit for a 55 year old JBJ... I split Bon Jovi into two different bands, now even 3...

It's out of ten not 15. Just because one song is amazing it doesn't push everything else down to the low 7s.

When I rate these songs, I'm not comparing to songs from golden years... I'm comparing to the past few efforts.. it's apples to oranges..

I don't think anyone should ever have to explain why they like something. It's silly. Something great and different will always exist but it shouldn't make something else less good.

Chris Issack's guitars; KD Lang's voice.

It's a Jon Bon Jovi solo album song. Is his master plan to carry the album AND the tour on his voice alone?

Oh, so we're not rating these new song on a real 1-10 scale?

We're rating them 1-10 based on what Jon is capable of nowadays? The bar is lowered?

What crap.

A 10 should be a 10.

If Dry County is a 10, which we agree it is, Labor of Love comes nowhere close. Not lyrically, not musically, not vocally.

...in your opinion. And that's all it is - nothing more, nothing less. Other people have different opinions and don't need your approval, if they happen to vote Labor of Love or any other song a '10'.
