Let's rate: Labor Of Love

Haven't listened yet but if you're giving it over a 5, I'll probably love it lol.

I'm curious to see what you think as we generally like the same songs. I'm addicted to this one right now. It's the best of the 3 for me.

Will let you know as soon as I get a chance to listen to it properly, with headphones in, and no distractions.

Not gonna lie, the beginning of the song got me excited. Too bad the excitement lasted very little..

The atmosphere was interesting, but the song never takes off. The lyrics are super repetitive and a total rehash of bon jovi tropes, nothing interesting. Vocalwise you can really tell there ain't much gas left in those pipes. And the chorus is plain bad.

All in all, a really forgettable song.

I give it a 7. It is not my kind of song so I don't think it will be one I listen to loads. However, I like the mood, the melody, the guitar, and the general feel. I think it is fair to recognize a solid song even if it is not your cup of tea.

I think I gave THINFS the same score. Knockout I give a 1 and will probably never listen to again. So far the album is shaping to be hit and miss so far. Too early to tell I know but that is a positive for me as The Circle and WAN were complete misses for me apart from two songs. So, out of three new songs for this album I like as many as I have on the last two releases.

Hey, if I like half of this new album I will like more Bon Jovi songs than I have combined for over a decade.

Listened to it a couple times. Pretty bland. Didn't do much for me.

I like the atmosphere, Jon's voice in the verses is pretty cool, but the choruses are simply wrong in the mix, and kills the experience for me. It is a 5, acceptable song, but those little mistakes makes everything crumbles. I think with a good mix, the song would be a 6-7. And if he had better lyrics and harmonies Richie (or David, Phil, Shanks) could have been a solid 8.

I think I'm one of the few that don't think harmonies fit the song. I like the starkness of it.

With you on that Deb, this is a stripped down song and I think they tend to go overboard adding vocals. I prefer it the way it is.

Best of the 3 songs so far for me, by far! A ballad with heart, which has been missing for the last few records (not counting BB, which had a couple of great ones). It improves with repeated listens too. I do miss a bit of Richie harmonies here like most others. I hear some Springsteen vibes in places..
