Right, I found the two production styles similar though. The Huff songs and the Shanks songs didn't sound terribly different. Shanks finally got a warm, dryer sound out of Tico's drums, and it was all cohesive and flowed with the other half of the album. Shanks is absolutely going for the sound Jon wants.

Catchy song. Sounds like generic, modern Bon Jovi.



And how boring that is....really! I dont believe Jon wrote much of the hooks anyway, he's got tons of writers to buy from....

And Phil tries to do his best solo à la Sambora...

Give me a break, you put zero research into this slam. Phil didn't even play the solo.

Why is everyone hating on the song for sounding like the band they are?

A proper Bon Jovi fan should easily recognize that chorus hook is completely Bon Jovi.. Not just modern Bon Jovi, but something not out of place even in the 80's.

One thing I'd probably change is getting rid of the This House is not for sale before the choruses. Its already covered a few lines later, think it's a bit overkill.

Completely agree. I definitely wasn't thinking of adding words in between as Alpha suggested. The issue is the lack of a chance to breathe before the chorus with no real build up to it. You only get that coming off the solo.

Well, not just words, but also "time". As in, an additional 2/4 bar.
