Living Proof didn't make UK top 40?
Isn't that 34 place where it hit the highest during the week? But the actual chart, it didn't make?

No, it is confusing these days.

Legendary peaking at 27 and Living Proof currently at 34 is the sales chart only chart. As there was no physical release this was digital downloads only (not streams). The numbers for these charts are so small now as hardly anybody downloads music now, they stream it.

Neither Legendary or Living Proof charted in the official singles top 100, which combines sales and streams (this does not include airplay)

Living Proof is currently at 22 in the UK airplay chart. No idea where Legendary peaked.

Confused as **** now .....Lets just say to top 40 hits in the uk isnt to shabby for a 41 year old band, not that it matters lol

But..it isn't a top 40 hit. It's top 40 in downloads only, which nobody does. I guarentee that a top 30 position in this chart is less that 1000 downloads, probably a lot less. In the actual charts it's not top 100. If people want to carry on believing the these charts actually matter, that's fine. I guess Bon Jovi are blowing up on the chart for Bands from New Jersey that currently have a documentary on Disney + and are celebrating their 40th Anniverary this year - so that makes Legendary a massive success and a number one single. YAY

I worked with a band that had a number one single in the physical charts a few years ago, purely from fan base sales. No one outside of the fanbase knows the song and it didn't make the top 100 of the actual single charts. That's how insignficant these charts are now....

Your right charts mean nothing in this day and age.....Even the bigger bands of recent years ie the Foo Fighters cant get anywhere near it in the last few years and they are still massive !

Yes, as I've said all along, fans of this kind of band really only buy albums, singles are irrelevant really. I think that album is going to do pretty well..

What is pretty well in context considering audience listening habits, current state of the industry, Bon Jovi's current standing, etc? I have no clue what is a successful album these days.

Well, I meant I think that it will do well for a Bon Jovi album in 2024. It's not going to sell millions. As much as Jon wants to believe he is competing with Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran, etc, etc he really isn't.

The last 2 albums both entered at No. 5 in the UK I expect this to do better. I'd hope for a Top 3 in the UK and a Top 10 in the US.

I don't think a lot of people do either tbh. It's really tough for a band of Bon Jovi's stature to get a platinum album, but if they get to debut at #1 or #2 and then fall off the charts the following week they can maybe claim to have a successful album??

I still remember back at the end of 2020 and Phil X was doing a podcast interview and they asked him about 2020 he then went on to say "yeah it's doing great, it's got legs as I understand it". My mind went "really? It lasted about 2 weeks in the top 100!" Anyway, I hope Jon's not still looking at the charts for success validation, touring is where they can say they can still be successful....

I like Legendary because I guess I have to as a fan of the band (although I’m surprised how it’s grown on me) and I like Living Proof because it’s a kick ass song.
