No there is an actual difference between quality and taste and it works everywhere.

Porsche & Fiat

You may prefer the fiat because it's more your taste but no matter what, the porsche has a better quality (depends on type)

You may prefer Fulham because it's your team but no matter what, Chelsea has the better quality

You may prefer Backstreet Boys first album because it's your taste but no matter what, Thriller of Michael Jackson has the better quality

You may prefer Jon's voice because it's your tase but no matter what, Pavarotti's voice has the better quality

You may prefer Bounce because its your taste but no matter what, These days has the better arrangement & lyrice, hence quality

I prefer Slipper When Wet over New Jersey but damn sure that New Jersey is a better quality album
