Geez, i already read this 4 times the last 10 min and we all know it won't end up having that title....

ok so the new album has a set date, its called lost highways that much i made out

the last bit im not so sure on. Is it saying that they played a song from the album and asked the fans what they tought it sounded like country or rock and they all said that it was a good rock song??????????

They played the title track "Lost Highways" and yes they asked the fans what they thought it sound like. And they answered that it sounded like a rocksong with a country-chorus.

It seems that Jon repeatedly advised the fans to bear in mind that he lies frequently. This is nothing but a 'technique' just in case plans change eventually.

The fans were in for a surprise when Jon played [ie. previously recorded, not live] the title song and asked the fans what they thought and whether it sounded country to them. The fans replied - much to Jon's disappointment - that the track doesn't sound at all country but rock - and good rock at that.

I'm not saying this to offend Europeans, but are a bunch of Europeans really the best people to ask whether a song sounds "country"? He should have a fan club party in Nashville and ask people who actually listen to country music.

Perhaps we are. After all our "ignorance" in the subject makes us see country sometimes even where it isn't So if they said it didn't sound country then it will not sound country at all
