Not necessarily. She just reminded people that Hugh has been working with Jon since 1984 (???), although he was/is not an official member of the band.


She also wrote on her FB page:

Makes me wonder what she meant by "soon"... Next month? Next Summer? And isn't it too soon to record the next album? Jon doesn't need Hugh for demos... he had said he'd be recording in 2016... Right now Hugh has a job in Vegas, will Jon ask him to leave it ?

PS: I love her way of always putting Richie first whenever she lists the BJ boys. Jussayin'!

Hugh has been with Jon as a Studio Musician since 1984. A band or solo album is totally irrelevant when it comes to Hugh's responsibilities.... Hugh most likely got a call from Jon's management company asking him if he wants to partake in Jon's next recording. I'm sure he'll find out way before the rest of the world but Hugh is just a hired gun and probably couldn't give a shit either way wtf Jon does with his next album. He'll come in, lay his bass parts down, collect his paycheck, then wait to hear when he's leaving for the tour.

So leave his wife alone! She knows nothing and neither does Hugh at this point.

But then on the flip side, wtf is she tweeting in the first place? Especially if she doesn't want to be bothered. It's probably all done on purpose to help raise PR for the band.

As for Kelli's comments, I think her initial tweet and her replies to others indicate it's a band album. I get the feeling she backpedalled with the follow up tweet that Hugh has worked with Jon for decades and "this is not news about THE band" because it's really not her place to be the one to announce whether it's a band or solo album when Jon himself hasn't confirmed publicly which it is. I don't think she was expecting the barrage of tweets she received questioning what kind of album it is, if Richie will play on it, if Phil will play on it, etc etc etc. Time will tell but Richie or no Richie, damn this is way too soon if it's a band album. Ugh.

I agree with you. Seeing my posts being systematically altered and being personally attacked is pretty annoying and totally inappropriate on a forum. Don't you have rules against harassment over here? Other posters who received the same treatment simply stopped posting after a while. Don't expect me to follow them. In my world, bullies don't win.

2015/2016: OK, I mixed up years, but how many times before have I said I wasn't good at remembering dates? Big deal!
Anyway, I still think that Feb/March 2015 is still too soon to start recording if you intend to tour only in 2016. Or does he intend to spend 10 months recording?

As for Kelli's comments, although it's not her role to talk about BJ music, it seems that she feels the need to every now and then because fans ask her things about BJ on her social media sites. Don't you remember that some time ago a journalist announced that Hugh had just been added to the Vegas show by writing "former" (or was it "ex"?) BJ bassist (I'm the one who had linked to the article and joked about it BTW!). Then Kelli tweeted that, despite what the journalist had written, Hugh was still in the band. She felt she needed to say so because some worried fans had tweeted her about it.

No offense, Rdkopper, but it wouldn't hurt any of us to double-check our facts occasionally. In this particular interview, looks to me like Jon said the album would be out in '16.
