Ha, same!

Watching the video this morning I was shocked to see it.

I wonder if Jon was writing in Chinese or English/American whatever you want to call it.

It's most likely him making notes as to how to pronounce the words. It's what singers usually do when singing in a language unknown to them. It still sounds very American though.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

That would be English...

If I was to guess, there is no way in hell Jon could read the Chinese language, let alone speak it so I think he had someone write the way the words sound in English. He was probably pronouncing the words back and changing it on his sheet.

It reminded me of that 'Stand By Me' version they done. Was the guy from Israel? And Jon done the first verse in the guys language.

It makes me laugh, I must admit. I did love that version of 'Stand By Me', though. Still do infact...

So what Jon said in a recent interview that Old Joysey posted on the Burning Bridges thread:

- The record is not done, "the essence is there" but they need to finish it.
- It's going to have a lot of personal stuff, as Jon had a lot to take out of his chest.
- Might be released independently as Jon said "the traditional model" wasn't working for him anymore, and that's why he leaved Mercury.

We can notice that in the canadian interviews Jon gave last week, he finally starts to say "we" again when referring to the band. It's been 10 years since last time I heard the guy say "we recorded...". Once, he first says "I" but then says "I should say we". Has somebody finally told him how ****ed up the "I" sounded?

If it's the interview I'm thinking of he actually says the record is essentially done, just has a few tweaks that remain. I only assume that's the one you're speaking of in case it's the "The essence is there/it's essentially done" that was the same.
