- Perfect first single. Simple!!! But for the average radio listener, it needs to be simple... Catchy as hell, better than most of the top 40 shit songs out there today so IMO it should fit right in and do well. The only negative with that is, it's Bon Jovi so it has an instant strike against it... People can't help themselves to instantly compare everything back to the 80's...

- As a comparison to the past few singles / songs, I still have a heart for WDR. I really think that song could have done well with the right promo but maybe it was a little much for top 40 (adult) radio, who knows... IMO, THINFS is a toned down version of that type of song... Kind of a mix between the two, WDR and SNGMSM for what its worth in comparison... Bottom line, it's track 13 on Burning Bridges which is a good thing...

- With the above said, I've heard this song before and within a few days, I'll be ready for the next song... This is not going to satisfy me long term by any means but it's a great start. My anticipation going into this new album was Burning Bridges on steroids and this song gives me hope that I will in fact get that.

- Vocals - Jon sounds great. Perfect song for his now voice.

- Lyrics - Right now it's new so everyone is all about the lyrics but once that wears off people, it's all about the medley, melody, & hooks... and that's what most people will hear commuting to point A to point B.... Jon's Right, people who aren't into music don't care about the lyrics.

Personally, I think the lyrics are solid...I especially like the Ooooo Ooooo. So 80's... And they work perfectly after the first line 'These four walls have got a story to tell Ooooo Ooooo'... gives it a haunted feel...

- I get the HAND references - I don't pick-up on half the stuff you guys do so for me to pick up on the HAND guitar means that it's pretty obvious... I especially hear it right after the guitar solo. That ching ching ching that brings the songs back in. With that said, it's not a positive or a negative. It's just there...

- I know I won't be able to resist but after a few more listens today, I'm going to try and put the song away, and wait to hear it on radio like the rest of the world... This way I'm not exhausted by it.

That's All For Now
I agree with this! I can see why Jon is so proud of it. The song combines everything that they are still capable of doing, offers some nice hooks and typical stuff that the casual listener will like and remember. And it's in the basics also a sort of Lost Highway / Destination Anywhere type song, which I don't prefer, but I guess are really typical songs that Jon likes the most himself.. Although this has the "Bon Jovi band" feeling all over it.

I like the song, but I'm with the We Don't Run thing. That song for me tops this one, and I think) it could have attracted a younger type of audience.. Maybe this is the safer bet for the general audience, but I personally would have still chosen We Don't Run to launch a new are for the band..

Having said that, I'm curious to see what the album is like.. It's all feeling good.
