What about a box set, any mention of that?

When Jon was talking to fans, did he mention me?
He did have an event... He did mention you, however no talk of a new album or box set.

I do not want to divert the conversation about another band, I just put this example of a great anniversary of an album.

Metallica (The Black Album) Remastered 2021 - Deluxe Box Set

Description - Link: https://www.metallica.com/store/meta...REBADLXBS.html

Include LPs remastered, 14 CDs and six DVDs featuring unreleased content (live shows, rough mixes, demos, etc), MP3 download card of all audio.... include the legendary Moscow 1991, remastered full show. Damn!

This year is the 35th anniversary of SWW. I'd be happy with a 4/5-disc version, including demos, unreleased songs, and some live shows. But I'm afraid it's not going to happen.

I suppose it just comes down to what some people have saying.

The fans that drive Bon Jovi economically, are not the same type of fans that would drive Metallica. If Metallica is sending out a box like that it is because they know it will see, may if Bon Jovi is not it is because Jon thinks it will not sell. He is probably right because I think fans like on this board are quite rare.

Bon Jovi does not have a lot of die hard fans it seems.

Profit margins are much different from Metallica to BJ, again, because it comes down to who owns the song.

True, but Metallica are by no means the only band putting out stuff like this.

Deff Leppard Vault. Not a big fan of the band but have heard good things about this "virtual museum". They currently have a live Q&A scheduled with Joe Elliot and Phil Collen. I don't know how much the Vault costs.

Springsteen we know plenty about, including the Archive Series and boxes over the years.

They are not the only two of course, but I think it shows what the Experience could be.

However, I think it was you who made a good point. The JBJ Experience is not like those other products, even though it was sold as being similar. It seems to be a direct replacement for the fan club. It is giving the fan club members exactly what they want it seems.

I think the big mistake here is how the product was marketed. It was marketed as a vault, as an archive series, when it clearly is not that. I personally think the promise of a box set in two years is insulting, whether he delivers it or not.

Hundred percent yeah. Other artists ARE doing it but it's artists that don't....suck at this type of stuff.

Yeah the Experience absolutely should have been marketed as the new fan club with some cool things here and there and less vault-heavy if it was going to be this long before putting out anything the diehards actually wanted. But they've curated that fan base so well it's insulting to us.

My problem with the Experience is that they are not giving me what they really promised. At least, for the most part it is not. If Jon had one plan for the 40th anniversary, I think it's great, bravo !, but trying to sell it as if it were this year, and 8 months after the announcement he says it will happen in a couple of years, definitely confirms the scam that it is. Now I know, it doesn't deserve to renew this shit, until the box set is finally released, then it will be time to subscribe. Perhaps.
