Are these classic Bon Jovi housewives really only on board because Jon looks good? They don't see or hear the poor quality of the products?

I get that they're genuinely happy with the output and I can't knock them for it but it makes it so much harder to get quality product out of the band.
Well, we are criticising everything from the Bon Jovi camp for more than a decade. Anyhow, most of us are buying the albums and visiting the tours. So where's the difference to those housewives?

One clear difference would be they seem to enjoy what they are getting and we don't.

More personally, since The Circle I have bought two tickets to a show in 2017 because my wife had never seen the band. That's the only Bon Jovi product I purchased during that time, no albums, no tickets, nothing. I don't say I dislike something and spend my time, money, and effort investing in it.

This. I've gone to shows with people who go ape-shit for the big hits, sing along, and look forward to the next one. Not dissect every look the band gave each other and be angry/annoyed/upset at the setlist. That will never be me but I've also accepted if I'm THAT upset I can just walk away until they release something I really like. I think I'm firmly between those two words right now.

Devil's advocate time, why wouldn't they cater to the ones who have the better time at the shows? They're paying their bills, dancing for Captain Crash etc. It's formed the band into a hollow shell but from a business side I...guess I get it?

Not criticising the business side at all. Just the fake "i am an artist" or "we are the people's band" BS. Also, the whole "BJ aren't taken seriously" thing ain't going away by doubling down on that direction.

And for the record, I enjoyed the last three albums. I didn't love them, but I enjoyed them. Wouldn't have bought them otherwise.

I'm in complete agreement about all sides of that. Yeah if Jon is going to run it like a business he needs to man up but we're also in year...almost 15+ of being Sideshow Bob and the band being the rake, ya know? Feels like they've been a business-minded band for so long now and if you don't get enough joy out of what they do, what are you hoping for?

I don't know what I'm saying haha, this pandemic has put a lot of weird stuff into perspective for me.

Without doubt Jon has targeted the housewives plus Jerry’s weird cult. They love everything. Nothings good it’s amazing.
$2000 to go and see Jon murder some covers...they’ll be there.

I’d love to know the % of BJ fans who are a) men and b) still enjoy the new output.

I think a lot of men have dropped off the fan base.
When you see pics of the cruise or runaway things it’s 95% women who still cream their knickers when Jon smiles.

So then I went to Youtube and - I'm almost certain both used sources were just ripped form there.

For anyone who wants to watch the uninterrupted videos:

(even including the blinking VCR "Play" signal at the start)

http://www.youtube.com/v/XoYVFBKY6_A
(the Japanese BS1 footage was very heavy on the black areas which had made me suspicious in the first place)

So now I'm paying for Youtube rips...
I was suspicious about it, the image just sucked for an original file, but the performance from the Lost Highway The Concert from dvd in the last video also sucked, so I'm not surprised.

Jon is simply stealing our money. Most of this videos from the Experience can be found on YouTube in better quality.

Why does Jon he brags about the vaults if he then he doesn't throw anything?

I have never felt so ripped off. Every new upload that comes up to the experience... I am more furious.

What percentage were men to begin with? Genuinely asking, I came on board in 2000 and even my first show in Feb of 2003 was I would say 75% female, 25% male and that was when Jon was (arguably I guess) more of the sex symbol rock star than he is today.

They're a business minded band that asks top dollar for a shitty product. Jon's voice is shot, the albums and live shows lack a key member, the merch is utter white trash bootleg tiered garbage. I would wear a Def Leppard shirt, but as far as Bon Jovi, my enjoyment is limited to the band and the music, not for what they stand for "as a whole". So I wouldn't wanna be an "ambassador" of that.

That is what I am getting at. Jon's precious brand is, as far as I am concerned, in the gutter. To go all in on the "i aM tHe CeO"-angle, then lose your voice and co-writer, still ask for that kinda money for live shows; still write the most verbose and cocaine fueled credit card buying plan worded PR blurbs as back in the Bounce days (which was terrible even then! "Your whatever is our privilege"; Jesus Christ; who the hell wrote these?! Utterly terrible corporate lingo)... if you go all in on the business angle, kill all the romance, and have the kind of product JBJ and company have, you offer a shitty deal.

So: I am hoping for the one quality product they could possibly still muster - which is a good new album. Live shows, merch and everything else is obviously not going to ever match the price they put to it. They made their choice, but it is only fair for me to not agree to the conditions.
