If I were to pay for this, the only content I would be happy with would be unreleased songs or deeper insight from Jon. I mean actually some reflecting on past albums and shows. Was that video of Jon watching Richie solos from the Experience?

Live shows are less of a enticement to me because we have hundreds of shows already.
It was not a video of Jon watching Richie's solos. It was him watching a perform from 2003 and there happens to be a Richie solo.

Ah right, thanks. I don't have it so wasn't sure.

It’s just rehashed stuff. There’s nothing so far that’s an “experience”.

But they said they'd put out live, unreleased videos from past tours. They did and you complained they were already on Youtube. They put something out you can't find proshot on youtube and it's "Yeah but better performances exist". How is this rehashed stuff? Because it's songs they've done before? That's...the back catalogue.

Genuine question, did you pay for this?

Good god no.
I really thought by now they’d have released 1 demo or an unreleased track. One, would it kill Jon to do that.

Completely agree, if they were going to promise something like that, what the heck are they waiting for. But on the flip side, it feels like they're listening and at least putting out stuff you can't find online. We're a miserable group if we can't even admit that.

i agree, everyone here expects sth different but its a positive thing that they probably listen to the complains and make adjustments...
it has a long way to go but there are improvements i hope they keep up.

So assuming this goes on the way it seems it will, which is that there's not gonna be any unreleased demos or alternate takes. What is the take away? That, despite the NJ deluxe edition and the box set, they have zero interest in releasing anything like that at this point? It's 35 years of Slippery this year. There's stuff like Game of the Heart or even just Edge of a Broken Heart they could couple with a deluxe re-release. How likely is that, at this point?

If they can't get their shit together enough to build it into a subscription based platform people are paying for, I don't have a hope in hell they'll release it as a standalone item for sale on its own.

I don't know if it was low sales or lack of interest or what but the NJ re-release must have spooked them into trying or paying for someone to do anything like it.

They finally have the perfect opportunity to release old, rare stuff and tuck it into this and....man what a shame.

I mean, I'll be honest. I am not subscribed to this, because I'd kinda assumed that this was gonna end up just this way (and that anything rare they actually release would be obtainable otherwise, paid or not). But from an outsider's perspective - at this point, I'd wager that "released unreleased stuff" (available in bootleg form) in some official capacity would be a better signal than what they're giving as is, no?

I mean it is and it isn't. That side of it represents what we were looking the most forward to. The other stuff (early views of things, q and a chats, Xmas videos, early info etc) still has value to people. If you look at it like "I paid $80 so there should be $80 worth of exclusive video" that's not only what paying for. The things you don't like don't get discounted from the cost because they don't have value for you.
