New Fan Club Package Updates

Well,the only thing I know for sure is that I was fooled once,but I wont be a second time.
I wont renew the JBJ experience even if,in the 4 months left of the subscription,they release Hammersmith Odeon,and the full catalog of unreleased tracks they have.
I wont go to the cinemas either to see the show.
How come you want to fool me again with a show full of doctored voices when the last time I saw you live was the worst show Ive ever seen of a singer in my life?
Its the first time in my life since I became a fan in 1995 Im losing the interest in the "band" and not because I dont like their music anymore,but because of what Jon has become in the last years and how he is managing everything that has to be with the music part of his company.
I feel that he only wants the fans to get more and more money having no interest in music anymore.
He has no respect for fans,its like if he was laughing at every fan face.
I dont know how to explain it better.
I read the lines Jon wrote on the These Days booklet and its like if he was today, a completely different person.
If Jerry Braden and all the middle age rich housewifes that goes to the Runaways like it,its ok,its for them,but not for me.
This is not the Bon Jovi/Jon I used to love.

I see def leppard are releasing a 3rd box set. I’m not a huge fan of theirs but they respect and value their hardcore fan base.

Keep the faith is 30 years old next year. Will they do anything for it? Doubt it.

You're not far wrong. Jon has stated he was chasing the likes of Bryan Adams. But ended opening for the likes of Judas Preist etc, which I imagine he saw success and chased it. It wasn't to keep the faith when Jon took over, and you do start to hear a lot more of that what I call Bon Jovi sound. Whilst Slippery and New Jersey are great albums, I dont think that was them fully. If you catch my drift.

In fact you just have to listen to the Power Station Years period, Jon was not the classic artist who defined himself by his style, but rather he was transforming and adapting to the times, it is one of his great qualities, and when you see his discography in as a whole, I have to admit that it is enviable for the most part. The only downside I can object to, is that his sound and transformation stalled from the beginning of 2000 to the present, but boy, at this point Jon has every right to stay there if he feels that this is his place. It is a very long career, I am very critical as a fan, but I can say that he has been worth every damn album, even if some are mediocre. I hope Jon continues to release albums until he is 50 years old.

About the tours ... well, here things change drastically, since Richie left and Jon lost his voice, which practically happened at the same time, there is no longer anything of interest in them. Do you remember when it was exciting to follow each leg of the tours? When was the last time we lived it with intensity? 2010-2011?

I wish Camp Jovi had a consultant who was a true fan of this band to choose the things that are worthwhile for JBJ EX. Because it's a band that has done great things live, and I'm sure there are a lot of hidden things like demos and unreleased songs that are gems.

Well, in fact he is 59 by now...

The fans that the experience is catered towards just aren't interested in rare and unreleased music. It's that simple. Look how happy they all are that they got a box full of crappy, poorly made merchandise.

You've only got to see the comments on the bands social media posts to see why they put out what they do.


"Oh I love you Jon, thanks for everything you do for the fans."

"My favourite song is Who Says You Can't Go Home."

"I love the socks!"


They're not diehard fans. They wouldn't know what to do with a super rare song if it smacked them in the face. They'd probably play it once, and go back to Bad Name, WLOL and Captain Crash. Like Jerry, 4 of his top 5 songs of all time are from Crush up to the present day. Why the hell would he be interested in say, a previously unreleased These Days demo for example?

Oh and everything semigoodlooking has said in his last few posts is absolutely spot on. I've often wondered if the Jon we're presented with is all part of a carefully considered and well planned act.

You're certainly right that the Experience isn't catered towards the type of fan who's interested in rare and unreleased songs, but I think it's a bit of an unfair generalization to say, that the fans who like songs like Who Says You Can't Go Home, Captain Crash, etc. automatically wouldn't be interested in rare/unreleased stuff and aren't diehards anyway.

Tastes differ and I know plenty of people who like those songs, but would also absolutely lose their sh*t over an old unreleased demo. The two aren't mutually exclusive.

Sorry, I meant that the fans enjoying the experience are the same fans who positively comment on all the bands social media. Quite often it's the same people time and again. Apologies for the confusion.

But yeah, of course you can like those songs and still lose your shit over unreleased material. I mean one of my all time favourite songs is Always and that's been overplayed to death everywhere.
