Going by this thread, it's not working out too great then? Although yeah, we are a minority.

Sorry, I meant 50 years with the BON JOVI brand. That would be 2034.

Imagine this:
2023 NEW ALBUM
2024 Box Set 40th anniversary (rare demos and unreleased songs)
2028 NEW ALBUM
2030 Live Compilation (3 Discs with live tracks going through all the tours)
2033 NEW ALBUM
2034 Greatest Hits 50th anniversary (plus some new songs)
END

Absolutely no way Jon can carry on for another 13 years from now.

I feel drained just watching two songs from him these days, let alone more albums/tours.

I think there'll be another album. Two at a push. Finishes when he's about 65.

A new album every 5 years does not seem crazy to me. Tours would be limited, of course, to something like only 50 shows per tour. Even so, the brand would continue to live. Even though Jon no longer has a voice, the guy takes care of himself and he is healthy. Look Ozzy, he's still making records. I'm sure Jon will continue to make music, and he will use his brand, he will move on as Bruce Springsteen or Dylan or U2.

A release every 5 years, would be 3 albums, it is completely feasible. About the rest of the band, well, by continuing without Richie, it shows that official members don't matter. So Tico and Dave can be easily replaceable when they decide to stop.

As you have said many times, BON JOVI was always Jon's journey. That is why we will never have a JBJ solo album again.

He'll then probably retire with a big speech about himself always having said that he'll never do it when he's about to become Fat Elvis or a nostalgia act and that he wanted to leave when they were right on top. And all the Jerrys out there will believe it and cry into their twitter accounts.

I honestly do not want to hear the state of Jon's vocals when he reaches the end of his career. Like can his voice get any worse than it already is?

For the last decade Jon has stated he'll stop before he becomes a 'fat Elvis' and a nostagia act but if we're being real here we've reached that point both creatively and vocally speaking. Jon can't sing the classics how they were meant to be sung and their last 'hit' album Lost Highway was a decade ago.

I sometimes question if I'll still be aboard the 'BON JOVI' train to see the day the band eventually packs it in and retires.

But ... he is an artist, a singer and a writer. You cannot withdraw from it. Maybe you can take a few years off and then come back, but I don't think he will retire and never release an album. Add Bon Jovi is still a brand, somewhat deteriorated, but it still has a certain momentum. If the problem was vocal status, then it should have been retired in 2014.

the 2020 recording is not so horrible as not to re-record an album, in fact I was surprised that it could still be tolerable in the studio, the trick works. So continue the composition and recording of albums is more than possible. There is still interest, that is why we are all waiting for Halo.

What is really interesting with peple is mostly even Jerrys who love it all OR people who totally bash Jon..there seems to be no middle ground.
