the 2020 recording is not so horrible as not to re-record an album, in fact I was surprised that it could still be tolerable in the studio, the trick works. So continue the composition and recording of albums is more than possible. There is still interest, that is why we are all waiting for Halo.
No one is disagreeing he can do albums with technology that make it possible. No one. We're talking live. They're on a 30 odd shows a year right now and this is the state of his voice. It's not going another 15 years if touring is involved. I'd be singing a different tune if he was improving as the tour went on but 2013 was dire, 2015 was screechy, 2018 was whispery, it's a sliding scale.

There are a lot of artists who have lost their voices and are still touring with some success. So a small tour every 5 years is possible. 13 years go by fast.

Is it possible to release an album without touring?

Of course it is and I think if Jon does stick around for the next 10 to 15 years (it won't be with Tico, will it?) then this is the only likely scenario. 2 more albums without tours. That is the only scenario that works. Jon seems to be under some kind of delusion so who knows, may he would tour those albums.

I don't think he will stop making music. He believes he has too much to say and his voice is an important one. You don't shut off that kind of ego and go quietly into the night.

I find it hard to believe that other bands of his generation, like Metallica and U2 pushing his bands to the 50 years and Jon is not pushing BON JOVI towards that mark.

I'm sure Jon has a plan to get there.

Generally speaking: Yes!
But for nowadays' Bon Jovi? I don't know...
The last decade touring was the only possibility for them to earn money, their album sales didn't bring much / if even any profit. And the record companies know that, too, otherwise there wouldn't have been that kind of trouble when his last contract expired in 2015.
So even if he has a "licensed" contract now, I don't know if a record company is still willing to release Bon Jovi albums if they don't have the chance to make some serious bucks by getting a cut of their tour profits.
And besides that I highly doubt that Jon is that much of an artists who enjoys releasing unsuccessful albums without getting any money from it.

This x10000000

The albums are made to promote the tour. If he had the desire to make an introspective, inward album then for sure. But the paint by numbers, live your love shlock is designed to be universal to sell the tour. There's no ROI if there's no tour and if there's no tour who is it all for?

Metallica and U2 didn't completely burn out their audience, still have the spectacle to their show and the voices to back it up and sell, it's not a fair argument.

That being said I think Jon will still make music but hitting 50 years of touring with the band, apart from a one off show when we get there, I can't see it. They're touring so seldom these days and it's rough. Going any less is throwing money away.

I am not sure about U2, but Metallica do decent to their fans through available content, access to older live shows, etc. Also, Metallica does not release albums often so their fans and casuals see the release of an album as an event. Importantly, their albums are still mostly liked. Hardwired, thier last album from 2016 sold over a million copies in the U.S. alone during 2017 and around 300,000 album equivelent units in its first week. It is somewhere over 2 million units now.

It was propelled by packaging the album with ticket sales, but I think
Metallica's audience is still there, I don't think Bon Jovi's is. Although, I think Jon will continue to make music over the next decade regardless.

Wowow what a shower of shite. It's so bad it's hilarious.

Without trying to be sexist it's now abundantly clear who the experience is aimed it.
