I think maybe closure could do it. It's sad that after 30 years that's the way it ended. But yeah, I agree with the others, I just don't see it happening.

Part of me thinks the Hall of Fame performance did that. But that awkward stand-off in the press junket was really uncomfortable when they were asked if Richie was coming back.

This! I always go back to that "Richie has his solo career" remark from Jon and Richie's "If he asks me" when asked if he'll be on the next record. It's never gonna happen both are to stubborn and proud

It's so weird. Jon in the press saying he wish Richie was there but he won't let him back in and Richie saying to the press he has no desire to go back but would if he was asked...? A lot of weird mixed signals.

To be fair, I really don't think Jon and Richie were ever "bffs"

I don't think there was any sort of closure from that unfortunately. The guys were still both at odds with each other and nothing changed afterwards. It was still too soon.

I think for proper closure it would have to be these guys somehow getting back to the way things were on a personal and professional level. I know, pigs might fly etc...but I just think it's such a shame that after all these years and all the great music they made together that they can't just put all the other shit behind them and get along!

We've had several tragic events since, but that didn't bring him back. This House is Not For Sale, 2020, The JBJ Experience, poor tours. Tragic.
