I think what I meant was misunderstood, or I didn't explain it properly.
I am not saying he should have written TD or DA again, just similar quality. The example could have been Keep the Faith, or Slipperly, or New Jersey. My point is, I don't believe that he moved through the times of the late 80s, into the early 90s and then late 90s adapting to the styles while delivering top quality music and then 3-5 years later simply couldn't do it anymore.
The only acceptable explantion for that would be as someone said, his well run dry. I don't think that was the case.
By the way, full kudos to Jon for being able to recognize popular music and be able to combine that with his own. I don't get why that's a stick to beat him with, even if it was blatant copying. Noel Gallgher was doing that for years, still is in fact. It's one of the things I like most about Oasis too.
What's baffling is he stopped being able to do that successfully in the space between TD/DA and Bounce.
