It’s not unusual to go a little off topic every once in a while, but it’s common courtesy to acknowledge the derailment and take it elsewhere.

There exists a thread about Richie leaving that’s about 16,000 pages long. By all means, bump it up if that’s what you want to talk about.

We've had times very recently when about every thread turned into scientific posting sessions about when Jon hit one note that last time and how he sounded so differently the next time. Filled with tons of theories about what happened and why his voice went downhill. Every concert thread at the beginning of the tour had turned into the same discussion over and over. We won't get a definite answer to that question either, yet no one moaned about that.

There is something that does not fit into both theories, I do not think Richie had a relapse with the alcohol the day before, nor do I think the main reason for leaving the band was his daughter. That said, and knowing the tensions that existed months before, well ... that, there is something that does not fit.

Jon is trying to forget Richie, that is why they have made the rest of the band more visible in the promos, and make official member to Hugh and Phil, something that makes me have a jocular look, after 30 years. But when it comes to live shows and recordings of albums, it's still Jon Bon Jovi's show.

That's why we still can not forget Richie, not only is his absence, but also the lack of a guitarist to fill Richie's place, because honestly, nobody is covering that place, at least not up to it and commitment in the process of composition, writing, and know-how in a live show.

Hey Jon, If you reads this, take note, for the next album, involve Phil more, is the damnit official guitarist, forget Shanks, and write something more innovative songs in you catalog. About live shows, do not be so damn predictable.

I love talking to Jon on this site, it's like talking to Jesus, sometimes he seems to listen to you.

HA!! Rolo, you crack me up sometimes!!

(But you know, there are some people who probably think that when you're talking to Jon, you ARE talking to Jesus, or at least a reasonable facsimile.)

Yup, and there's more than one or two threads specifically dedicated to Jon's vocal issues. I don't recall many complaints about that conversation not staying confined to one of those threads, either. Subtle hints, possibly but no outright complaining.

Then again, that discussion is about Jesus... I mean, the other guy.

I get the feeling that some people don’t even read the set list threads or put much stock in them for the same reason. It’s well known ahead of time what those threads tun into. “The set list sucks. Jon can’t sing this song anymore. They need to retire.” And there’s an occasional “Hey he hit that note,” comment which someone else watching a video from a phone will inevitability dispute. But, at least people are often showing the ability to stay in the right place.

To be fair, I said exactly the same thing in the RSO thread, but got shot down by the admins, so it is what it is and just needs to be accepted it seems...

Classic!! Rolo, my friend, you are an artist!
(An artist who may need to find shelter from potential lightning strikes, but an artist nonetheless!)
