Even if iTunes does that there will still be other companies offering that service like Amazon, Google Play, 7Digital, etc, etc

I should have said that I want me collection to be "as complete as possible". I know that there are certain things that are out of reach, the Santa Fe promo included...

Even with the Hall Of Fame thing the chances of the band getting a real hit song in 2018 are pretty slim....I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see anyone that isn't already a fan being interested in the re-release at all
Fair, yeah, it's an uphill battle. One would assume they want to reach the people who stopped caring about the band and following the new material. It really hasn't been promoted properly and a lot of people don't even know they're still a band. A ton of promo around the rock hall along with "And their new single which is from..." will give them more promotion then they've had in years. Odd are against them but I'm not counting them out. The extra set of eyes and eyes could do something.

Stop making presumptions that you know what we do or don't do. I literally have 100s of Bon Jovi CDs and that doesn't even take into account Vinyl, cassettes, Videos, DVDs. I have multiple copies of every album, single, imports, etc, etc

I brought the recent Vinyl box set when I could find it at a decent price. Did you?

Happy to discuss the band all day long, but you don't know anything about me RD, so don't act like you do...
Although I was replying to your post, I wasn't talking about you per say.

Look, people openly admit that they don't purchase certain music and in my opinion, I'm actually okay with that if they don't like the music... Just like they don't have to purchase every movie they watch or don't like either.

However bashing the type of release they put out is something totally different.. I'm not just talking about a comment or two but people who bash these releases that don't plan on buying them in the first place are just not worthy imo.

I think with the Rock Hall thing, it's still going to be tough....it's a legacy thing....it's not about new music or the current line up. If the band come on and do a new song, people are just going to be watching waiting for Richie (and Alec?) to come out and do Wanted. That's what the big buzz will be about, what the press will be talking about, not the new song. In that way, it would probably server the band better of Richie didn't show. Although then you have the press just saying what a disappointment it was...tough call really.

Outside of America the Rock Hall thing is not really that big of a deal. It certainly won't gain them any extra exposure in the UK...but the reunion of the original line up would generate a lot of press...

Well, Ok fair enough, but f I wasn't planning on buying the release then I wouldn't be bothered enough to comment about it...

I don't understand people that post in a forum like this and then don't support the artist by buying the product. I guess if you are only interested in the early stuff then fair enough, but if that was the case then I wouldn't want to waste my time and energy talking about it online...

I’ve got THINFS on vinyl, Japanese import and got it on iTunes when it came out. I’m not buying it again. I’ll just buy the 2 new tracks off iTunes.

Yes, I-Tunes is being phased out by 2019/2020. With net neutrality on the line, providers and streaming services are likely to form partnerships so if you have, say Comcast, you may be able to stream from Spotify at a better data rate than Amazon. Or, however it gets configured. There will be more of a pay as you go for what you actually use model. And it will suck for people who use streaming services.

Yeah it'd be more a North American thing. Right off the bat all the press releases have mentioned the two new songs and re-release. They're going on talk shows to talk about the rock hall and performing a new song. That compounded with the reunion is going to let a lot of fans, old and new, know they put something out last year and it's coming out again. Whether or not it works or not we'll see but I think the timing is perfect.

Ah, how am I missing this news? As it is, I avoid iTunes if I can. I have grabbed iTunes exclusive bonus tracks, but Amazon has been my primary store since the Mp3 Store opened, and moreso with AutoRip for CD purchases. Still, it's a concerning development. Amazon already does promote their music streaming service in place of album purchases. I'd hate to see the day where we are wholly dependent upon streaming. I've been a Spotify guy since it hit the U.S., but I always have considered it as a supplement to my existing owned library rather than a replacement for it due to the fact that good chunks of my personal library contain releases (other than bootlegs) that are not found on any streaming service.

I'm just praying the two new songs are actually worthy and not two deuces Jon dropped off real quick.
