That Ellen performance is so weak vocally. I'm really struggling to understand how he has no power on that song. It's not in a challenging key.

I agree. I recorded the Ellen performance, but watched it on my phone and had zero drive to see or hear it again. The GMA airing of the London performance was much better and I wasn't bothered by Jon's total bailing on the chorus.

I think we maybe underestimate the worth of an upbeat throwaway pop-rock song. Some of the blokes around us commented how "they liked that one" about Knockout. Not everything needs to be a lyrical masterpiece, it just needs to be upbeat and have guitars and a decent hook and that's enough. It's good that we can have this and something like Devils or Scars on this album.
