But, over the years, he's never mentioned Springsteen as a songwriter influence not that I can ever remember. The other guys he has spoken of before.

I just think he is boring as a person and tries hard to be relevant. I'd say I am disappointed but I don't care enough for that
Silly comment. Why can't someone like pop and death metal, for example? Or soul and dance? If you don't like it, great. That's perfectly fine and down to your own personal taste.

I was hugely disappointed when I first heard Knockout. It's taken several listens and now I actually quite like it. That's far from saying it is perfect, or that it doesn't have faults.

Some negatives: The lack of guitars to drive the song. Even a basic verse riff and some power chords in the chorus would have improved things. It's a bit weak/boring musically. U2 vibe yet again from Shanks/JBJ.

Also, the guitar "solo" is laughable. It makes the original solo on WWBTF sound like Eruption.

Jon's voice on the verse's are weaker than watered down Skol. He's hardly Joe Cocker on the chorus either.

That said, I'm not bothered by the lyrics - BJ have used cliché lyrics throughout their career in various songs. I like the drums in the chorus. There is nothing outstanding about this song, yet I enjoy listening to it. I'll take that.

I don't want the other 10 or however many songs to all be in this vein. The more personal lyrics, better guitar work, stronger vocals etc will hopefully be amongst those songs. If so, I've no problem with tracks such as Knockout and THINFS.

My questions:

Can you tell us more about the Burning Bridges songs specifically Who Would You Die For?

Can we get the lost album Sex Sells one day as it was intended to be released?

There was talk about releasing more albums similar to Sons Of Beaches, what ever happened and/or could there be plans in the future to release something similar?

In regards to the above, Slippery just reached another milestone, can we get something special one day?

I would also asked for other rarities and with the hopes of some live shows possibly online only... Like what Bruce does... If they have all these shows recorded, why not put them out? It's the perfect time.

He's yet to confirm about a definite plan for a tour and I'd ask him what the hold up is...

I can't stand when people ask him questions like what his favorite album is. You know what he is going to answer.

I kind of liked the 30sec snippet but the song as a whole is poor. It doesn't go anywhere interesting musically, and lyrically, as has already been mentioned, it's pretty woeful.

Knockout has grown on me. I'm pretty sure this is what Jon meant by the next album going the direction of WDR.

Like others on this forum, the song has grown on me and I do really like the ideas behind it.

But what does bug me is the minutia, that is at 1:22 (the guitar riff behind the second verse). At this point the guitar sound does not trail out but stops abruptly, too soon in fact, and it IS definitely not meant. As a producer and mixer of music, this is 100% an oversight, being too close to the project or whatever, but I can't stop hearing it. Aaaarrrghhhh....

It's like a song off hand but without the wall of guitar sounds. Listen to complicated then straight after listen to knoclout. Not easy to tell they were released a decade apart. But I like that, it's fun and energetic and angsty.

Second single, second time such weird "fragments" have appeared. What gives? They were hardly in a rush.

(And before anybody says "this has never happened before! Damn you Shanks!", there's a weird sonic artefact on ITA as well)
