Wow... that's probably the most pessimistic thing I've ever written on this board.

I have been taking it to mean a new direction - as in burning the old bridges. I hope I am right. They need a kick in the ass and some enthusiasm for a new direction.

I'm just curious. Does anyone besides me think it's strange that there isn't one word about this on bj.com or the Facebook page? The only tweet I've heard about, from anyone associated with the band, was a response from Kelli McDonald answering someone else's tweet. I would think with an album coming out in August, somebody from BJM would be making some noise.

I'd like to say it was strange, but Bon Jovi's camp, other than the Crush days, has never been very good with using the internet to their advantage. They pretty much suck at social media.

Also, if my pessimistic theory is true, they may not do much to promote it if it's just an emptying of the vaults/severing the ties sort of thing.

It makes me think it's just a throw-a-way new song the label is putting out to appear as a new track for a half assed compilation but Richie's involvement throws a giant monkey wrench into that. I'm sorry, but they can't pretend everything is all hunky dory and use a track he played on as a radio single and then have pictures of them as a trio. But I'd still be mad if they just recorded over his part. Haha I don't think there's any way out of this for me to be happy

Generally, I'm not that pessimistic either! That's why I decided I must be drunk and I need to go home! Only problem is I don't really drink and I AM home! LOL I just turned 40. It must be a hormonal thing. Stop messing me, Bon Jovi. I can't take your drama and my hormones at the same damn time!

If it's a song that Jon wrote without Richie, they could certainly re-record it without him. Let's face it, Richie co-writing every song on The Circle was an oddity so it stands to reason there are songs from that recording session that Jon wrote without him that didn't make the album. He would have no claim to them at all if they were reworked without his production input.

I agree, if it's a song Richie didn't write with Jon or play on it's fair game.
