Tico has officially confirmed the new album is on its way. Couldn't be less excited...

Do you think they will use the documentary to promote the new album as they already did with When We Were Beutiful for The Circle? or will that come later?

Is Tico shrinking?

I wonder what kind of tricks they'll have to pull to make Jon sound half-decent. WAN and THINFS were already barely passable in that aspect for me.

I'd like to hear some exciting guitar work, which imo we haven't had in ages. Except for THINFS (the song), Beautiful Drug and We Don't Run, I can't name a single song released in the past 10 years that isn't completely forgettable guitar-wise. Blood In The Water is well played and came close for me but still fell flat.

Maybe AI? Jon could AI his own voice back to 2013 to make it somewhat believable.

Yep it's a possibility. But that would mean:

1) Worst case scenario: Voice worse than ever, even more painful than in 2022. It wouldn't be recognizable even in the studio. No way he'd be able to carry on a world tour when that small number of concerts in the US last year were already horrible. Not without miming. It's either AI or a trainwreck.

2) "Best" case scenario: "Decent" voice live (compared to 2019-2022; a kinda comeback to 2014-2017) but AI was still used to make it the album as passable as WAN/THINFS. You know, make it better for the radio and stuff.

Up until last year I'd say I didn't believe Jon would ever go for stuff like this, but I changed my mind after he mimed Prayer.

Either way it's not something I'd like to see such band do. Personally I'd rather a final box set + goodbye tour if and when his voice allows it. More of the same from last year would get more embarrassing each concert. Not the way I wanna see one of my favorite bands (and artist) go.

Edit- typo

What are the chances that Jon got his shit together, went through therapy and improved his vocal chords situation like a lot?

Not going happen....JBJ isn't singing at his Kid's own Wedding! Maybe he didn't want to....

I want JBJ to prove the skeptics all wrong ( including me) but let's be realistic here his voice during the 2022 America Tour was Very bad.......

Unless he's followed his Voice Coach's instructions ( Or Doctor's) just maybe they may be a faint chance his vocals cords may get some oomph back.

Let's see. But if he sounds as bad, or worse Touring in 2024, time to call Ritchie and Make the final Album and Farewell Tour for the fans, even if he sounds bad.....circa 2025/26

JBJ did mime during the 2022 Tour, only once.

He gave all he got! Even if sounded very bad.....

Only on the high part of Livin on a prayer did he let play back take over, but he's been doing that since late 80's.

Yes the tricks for the new album will be there thay have been since he started in 1984 in some way in just more noticable now his vocals have detoriated.

But he will mime perform the new album songs, only on Livin on a prayer high part....He just wouldn't rip off fans pretending to sing his songs, he would call it a day if he did that.

Nope there was one show that he clearly mimed the whole of Prayer. Can't remember which venue it was. every other night it was indeed live apart from the usual line before the solo.
