They'll barely care about the album but it's a much easier sell.
The reason is because I don't trust what Jon usually says beforehand, you usually get half / a third of what he promises. That's why there is a bit of mistrust.

The digital Box Set is fine, but honestly, if it is for fans, they would make more money by releasing it physically too, even if it is in a limited edition and with a higher price. I can see how they integrate this documentary series with the box set in physical format, and adding a booklet with photos, extra information, bonus disc....

Regarding the new album, I think they are going to repeat the strategy of THINFS, you know, adding many bonus tracks in different editions. Something that seems very cool to me. 2020 was disappointing in that regard.

About the tour, I have no interest, but I suppose Jon will do some trick bringing an eye-catching stage with a good set of lights and screens.

There's a mistrust because people take the small nuggets of info we get and run wild with "Well it'd be nice if..." and then it snowballs from dream to what Jon said. You yourself have been pretty big on big big big hopes far outside the realm of what's going to happen, only to be disappointed later.

I don't think I agree about them making more with a physical product, I think they stand to make much more doing it digital. Zero overhead/packaging/shipping/time constraints. If it's a vault they can keep adding new things if they wanted. I don't think there's enough of an audience for a physical box set of unreleased songs. It didn't sell so hot in 2004 when they were 3 years from It's My Life, why would it now?

Thatīs bullshit. There are many many bands or artists in the world far far less famous than BJ and they are realeasing anniversary or deluxe physical editions of their albums and people are buying it! Even if BJ camp will release this box-set in some limited amount. There are at least 5000 fans in the world, including me who would buy it..... Jon just doesnt care about fans wishes.

Fans want a product. Look at 100m boxset. Its great.
Ok it hardly sold (especially to casual fans) but die hards would love something like that again.

Digital would be a bit "meh"

I can't believe Jon's working with Billy Falcon again after the far-right conspiracy theories that guy had supported months ago.
Making sure to cover all political bases I guess

To be fair, it's exactly what Jon would do. He's an inclusive fella, he doesn't care about political beliefs. Well at least that's what he portrays to the public. But I think this supports that. He's a genuine dude.

But that's not what we're talking about. This isn't an anniversary or a deluxe physical release of their album. Of course that's an easier sell, it's songs everyone is attached to and people love. We're talking about a box set of unreleased material. That's a different ball game entirely. That takes the casual fan who loves Prayer and Wanted right out the mix.

"Fans Want it" and "it hardly sold" were both just said by you haha. I AGREE, hardcore fans prefer it to be a physical product. But it's a stone cold fantasy to think it's going to do well enough that they put the same effort they did into it when they had more label involvement and cache to their name.

They've pissed away their fanbase that cares about this stuff to such a sad sad point to focus on casual fans who buy the cheap stuff they hock.
