Correct, Jon preferred Whole Lot of Leaving over Lonely.

During the JBJ and friends show I remember he told a story about how the album already had Make a memory and Whole lot of Leaving therefore "Whole lot of Lonely" couldn't make it. Though that doesn't say anything about when the song was written I put it as a later on in the process song because it was being discussed after WLOL?! I could be way off.....

Originally, it was just singing it. But they felt it lacked a female counterpart. So when they had found LeAnn Rimes, Jon said that they went back and cut all in the instruments in a higher key to fit her voice. Vividly remember this interview section, recorded it off German TV at the time.

Ohhh yeah. the EPK for the album was recorded in the middle of them recording the new version, totally forgot that.

Phil X talking about the new album. He seems genuinely excited!

Very cool to watch! He does seem very excited for the album! I love how Phil is so down to earth and still, after over ten years with the band, still acts like a kid living his dream when describing some aspects of being a Bon Jovi member.

Dunno how good of opinion she has, but Hugh's wife heard the new album, and she reckons its "f*king awesome!"

I do get the feeling this album is different from the past couple, and maybe in the rockier side of things. Which I'm all about!

As well as Phil’s enthusiasm for the new album and his involvement, the other interesting bit is how he dares criticise the past couple of albums (kinda saying what we all think)

Yeah, good on him. It was nice to see him show some excitement for this album. 2020 he didn't say much apart from the solo in Beautiful Drug.
