Petition against lines like "live my life" in new Bon Jovi songs.

You know Sebs post is funny when he puts it like that, but until that reviewer pointed it out, how many other people honestly noticed it?? Ok I would agree songs like HAnd, ITM and Everyday have the same theme running through the lyrics. But songs like I am, My Life Story, Welcome to wherever you are and complicated are all decent so tbh I couldnt care less if they use a certain word more than once!!!

Got to say I hadnt thought about the life theme, but it was obvious when they were going through the dying and crying phase.

I'm with you. I agree that the 'live my life' motif has been overused, but HAND is the only culprit on the new album IMHO. Just because the other songs mentioned have the word life in doesn't make them as unoriginal as is being suggested.

Exactly, and how often is the theme "my guitar" and its chords and how it is the truth and the only thing he's got used on the KTF record? Doesn't make it any less good.

I think most people notice.. even on boards unrelated to jovi I have had people saying it reminds them of "Its my life"

I think they used the "Black and White" thing a couple of times as well.


Look theres some great songs on the new album... but BJ do have a habit of recycling their old cliches for each song

Got some definite points, we could do without having IML recycled over and over and over, but if we wanna petition against the use of the words "live" or "life" in their songs, let's knock out "love" too. And now that I think about it, "pain" and "I" too.

No more 'spread wings and fly' or 'show wind how to fly', please...
And it's true, all my friends that are always complaining about BJ like HAND (song) but they say it's similar to IML...

They have always been repeating the themes, but with 3 "live your life" first singles, this one is just the most obvious one. But mind you, from a lyrical point of view, Born To Be My Baby ~ Living On A Prayer and Bad Medicine ~ Bad Name. Also, the line-repeating in Bounce ("take the hit but not the fall" from Two Story Town) and Thank You For Loving Me ("lock the door, leave the world outside" from BTBMB, "all I've got to give to you are these 5 words tonight" from IBTFY) were a lot worse.

Add "The", "a", "For" and "You" to the banned words list and we're in for some originality.
