But does he actually say "Forgiveness Street" during this video? It seemed like he was asking the question to anyone who downloaded the album early, there's no way else we'd know it.

This Tweet surprised me, too. I really loved "Forgiveness Street" when I first heard it (I didn't download the leaked version, but I listened to the audio that someone posted on YouTube).

I think he must be referring to the video he posted on his YouTube page with the violin player, but it's true that he *doesn't* mention the song by name in the video, though you can hear it in the background.

Maybe he just assumes his diehard fans already downloaded the leaked version or have heard the audio that's been up for months on YouTube.

But my gut feeling is that he figured he'd mentioned it by name at some point in the video and was just being conversational. "Taking a Chance on the Wind" was identified as such in the video, but the 'Forgiveness Street' video wasn't identified at all, as far as I can tell, by name on YouTube or by Richie himself in the video. Only diehard fans would even recognize the song playing in the background.

Our Secret Place has never been released anywhere. Forgiveness Street wasn't released either but was on the album when it was leaked early last March. There's no way to get it legally.

Also, did anyone notice the Tweet where Richie said he was at the same location (somewhere in Hawaii, maybe?) where he had written some of the songs for 'Aftermath' and that he had written a couple of new songs?

Yeah. I remember in one of those aftermath interviews Richie metioned that after the TC tour, he took one week off on vacation and when he was back in LA, he started working with Luke Ebbin on a new solo album. And Richie has said that the earliest songs written for Aftermath were Every Road and SYG, so he probably began writing them in Hawaii?

Sigh, can't wait for more solo stuff from Richie~

I find myself constantly going back to 'Forgiveness Street" (the full audio version on YouTube). Right now, I'm listening to that single song more than the entirety of "Aftermath." It has a 'mood' to it; sort of a haunting quality, imo. There's just something about the vocal that 'gets' me; I feel sincerity (and plus, I love Richie's way with a ballad). Also, the bridge is especially beautiful, the way the instrumentation and vocals just rise and rise. I wish it would have appeared on the album, but maybe Richie felt it was too somber. Then again, does anyone else find that the snippet we heard on YouTube with the violin made it sound even /more/ somber?

**goes back to listen again**

Bluesy....country collection. Yes, I think Richie is on to something here.
