is it with the band? or solo?
This was a full band corporate gig. Last night they played the closing party at a big Microsoft conference here in Atlanta. Maroon 5 opened.

Some of the song titles are on ASCAP.com.

Backseat Driver
Burn that Candle down
Every Road
Forgiveness Street
Nowadays
Seven Years Gone
Sugar Daddy
Taking a chance on the Wind
I’ll always walk beside you

Are all registered as being written by Richie and Luke. The others aren't up, oddly enough.

I think they're dead as a songwriters if they keep going down the road they've been going down this past decade. I have no doubt they're still able to write decent songs, but as long as they'll be catering to the average American audiences it'll be simplified dumbed down songs, just a tad better than what Kid Rock is producing.

Once they give up and start writing songs for the sake of having something to tell and wanting to be creative as opposed to wanting something to sell and putting a halt on creativity their music will be interesting again. I enjoy following their process but it's not looking to good now is it?

And by saying "at least they're still producing" you're making it sound like that's a good thing, but when you've got nothing to say you might as well shut up. It's the thing that Bon Jovi just refuses to do and instead they keep re-telling the same story over and over and over again. The only thing Bon Jovi gives me nowadays is the pleasure of live shows and hanging out with people who take Jon just as seriously as I do. I don't feel their latest efforts are decent. A decent song is something I want to hear again, yet I haven't played The Circle since it's been released. So really, what's there to admire?

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

How can anyone who believes the band or Jon or Richie haven't put out anything decent in more than 10 years and who keeps slaughtering every new thing they do, spend so much time on this board? You sound like a nostalgic freak.

Or is it just too hard to build up the same knowledge of facts and figures about another band that is still getting you excited and become their Mr. Know-it-all and 'You can have your opinion but only mine is the right one' ...

To be fair to Seb there's nothing wrong with being a fan of the old stuff but not new stuff, saying someone cant have that opinion is pretty silly if you step back and think about it. Nostalgia is a powerful beast! Why spend so long on this board? A lot of us have grown up on this board yourself included..

And yeah he is pretty full of knowlege...and shit!

It's only been some fanboys on here that have been raving about some stuff. On other boards where the leak was dropped no one was surprised and considered it the same dire stuff Bon Jovi has been releasing over the years. And that includes the people that follow guitarists and know what Sambora has been capable of as a solo artist.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Why does someone have to be a fanboy to like the album? The only way to like it is to blindly like everything he touches?
